    Great camera in a smaller, lighter package

    My shoulder thanks Nikon. It´s been getting increasingly harder for me to lug my d800.
    I can see no degradation in the clarity of the Z7.
    Very quiet. Almost to quiet.

    Sharp but expensive for its build

    The lens is pretty sharp and performs reasonably well. The build quality is lacking though and you really want it to be a 2.8 for shooting video. I love my Z6 but in many instances need to use the adapter as this lens just doesn´t get it done.

    A versatile lens, easy to use

    This lens compliments my other Z lenses. I have a Z6 and a Z7 and this lens is a joy to use.
    The level of quality, in my mind is unsurpassed.
    Exactly what you would expect from Nikon.

    Great walking around lens

    I got it as part of the kit and it is great to walk around with and some shooting. Light package is attractive. I did buy the 2.8 version though as I need 2.8 and also the primes at 1.8. I do a lot of night shooting so fast lenses are a must. But daylight and non portrait shots this f4 is great.

    Using lens on Z6..Focus is smooth and sharp.. Performs nicely in low light. Overall a great lens.

    Excellent Sharpness But...

    As the title says, this lens is impressively sharp across the zoom range. I only wish this lens were 24-105 mm. or even 24-120 mm. It would also have liked it to focus at closer distances. In spite of that, it is a very useful lens, especially if one wants to go light.

    It´s a good lens. Quiet focusing system. Seems like a great ´´kit´´ lens.
    Typical f/4 low light performance, nothing fantastic.
    Sharp images. Is definitely better then the 18-35mm kit lens I had.

    It was my first purchase with the Z7 and while I now also have its big brother, the f/2.8 24-70mm I´m keeping this one for daytime working from a back pack as it´s almost a pound lighter. Lighter weight is a good trade off when I´m outdoors in daylight anyway and do not need the faster lens.
