My first pro quality lens, very pleased!

Not a pro by any means, but this lens does what it is supposed to every time! I decided to try some astrophotography in Utah and I was overwhelmed./KDB

Birth Photography Must
Posted by RedPlumBirth on November 28, 2018
I actually borrowed this lens from my friend that was having a baby. She delivered via C-Section. Because of infection control, I wasn´t allowed to bring my camera bag into the Operating room. This lens was so perfect! My friend couldn´t believe how sharp her images were! I have this on my list for the next big purchase.

Just got A used one today,
Posted by Frutti on November 9, 2018
Would like to comment on some of the 2 stars reviews. reg the sharpness. In my opinion, it is a pretty sharp lens considering it is NOT a prime lense. There is plenty of glass inside. I like the flexibility and the range of the length. The sharpness does not seem to be a huge problem, the problem is the Bokeh. I am used to prime lenses such as 50 f1.8 and 85 f1.4, and there is no comparesment. One has to come pretty close to the subject or use the higher end (70mm) of the zoom to get a nice blurry background with this one. 24mm is a wide angle and that is given. Having said that, I like the fact, that i can take group or couple´s pics and/or include some negative space without a problem. I think, great for the holidays. Not sure yet, how this performs in a low light. Love ?? my Nikon primes, they never disappoint me.

Go To Lens
Posted by Merle on September 2, 2016
I have owned this lens for several years. It´s my go to lens that I have used for portraits, weddings, landscape and general photography. In combination with the D3x I currently use, it gives me excellent quality images that can enlarged and cropped as needed.

Loose focus ring with clicking sound when focusing
Posted by LoseControl on February 29, 2016
I bought this lens as refurbished condition straight thru the Nikon USA website. As soon as I received my lens, I inspected exterior cosmetic condition of the lens (mint condition) and also tested performance. I found several problems soon after I tested, back focusing issue and clicking noise when chasing subject with AF-C focus mode with my D610. Focus ring also felt loose. Definitely not what I expected from Nikon. Now I´m sending my lens to get service and this is very frustrating situation which I never wanted get into. But I still believe that this lens is fantastic if everything is in good shape.

great!!!

amazing images... super sharp, fast focus and use in all kind of photography.. if you use DX format..never mind...to much money for crop sensor. FX user. best midrange zoom ever.
needless to say, The only downside is the weight.. If you can only get one lens to go with your new baby get this lens and treasure it as it won´t let you down. I´m very happy and satisfied I finally bought it. The sharpness and speed focussing is amazing!... the second most used lens. was an essential part of every trip. Besides being my top travel and landscape photography lens, the Nikon 24-70mm has also served me well during various local photo sessions both in studio and outdoors environments. So, as you can see, it has seen a lot of abuse from me and knowing it inside out, I can speak of it with confidence. i have the 14-24 too but love this lens because you can attach filters, and the 14-24 don´t. -

Fast autofocus. Great contrast and color. Minimal flare. No drama, just beautiful pictures.
