The only Z lens I own.
Posted by Tom Musch on May 18, 2021
Currently the only Z lens I own. Traded in the Z 24 to 70 F4 to get the range for most all images. In the studio I set the lens for F6.3 and I am good to go at all focal lengths.

Mt favorite lens!
Posted by Diane Davies on May 18, 2021
This is my go to lens and it rarely leaves my camera. It's versatile and suits my needs as a photographer who documents my daily life in the area where I live. I do primarily Landscape photography, and any birds or wildlife that may be in close enough range for the 200mm, mostly songbirds. Waiting for the release of the Z 100-400mm, or the 400mm prime so I can do more wildlife. This is a terrific all purpose lens that covers a lot of bases.

Nikon's best all rounder
Posted by Robert Alan on May 18, 2021
Best all purpose lens Nikon ever made. Great range, light and super sharp, and great weather proofing. Pushing the iso up to get better low light performance will get easier as the modern sensors continue to improve and their dynamic range increases. I can't wait for the 200-600 to be available.

Good enough to live on my Z7 as its default lens
Posted by Jim Strasma on May 18, 2021
I love having one lens that can cover 90% of my shooting needs. Though it isn't quite up to the quality standards of my other S lenses, it is good enough for almost everything except in dim light. For that reason, it is the lens that lives on my Z7, only swapped out when I need a particular ability of one of my several other S lenses.

Possibly the best travel zoom ever
Posted by ALAN ALAN on May 18, 2021
Pre-covid, going back many years, I have used all ilk of travel zooms on extended treks where the purpose was to enjoy the moment more than aspire to NatGeo quality. I am very familiar with the genre. The title says it all, optics combined with software lens correction yields sharp images with corrected vignetting/chromatic and linear aberrations. VR is good but not as good as some older F mount lenses, but mounted on the FTZ adapter the VR of those lenses worsens. The only downside is the inevitable-for-genre restricted aperture range and in my sad experience the Z camera the lens attaches to.

Great lens, Hoping for one with a fixed focal length.
Posted by Richard Provost on May 18, 2021
This is a great lens. Very sharp in all focal lengths. The reason I only gave it four stars is I'd love if it was an F4 throughout its range. I know it would cost more but, for me, it would be worth the price.

It does everything I need
Posted by Joe Routon on May 18, 2021
My photography consists mainly of portraits, travel, food, landscape, nature, and street, and I wanted one lens that I could use for all of these. It's particularly helpful for me when I do travel photography, eliminating the need to carry several lenses. I'm very pleased with the Z 24-200mm. It's an excellent lens.

Almost perfect!
Posted by Larry Angier on May 18, 2021
On the Z6, it's a great combo, good balance, size, sharpness for an all-in-one lens. It stays on the camera most of the time. However, I wish there was either a tad more focal length or a bit more speed at the long end, but one can't have everything! I probably needs an A/M switch on the lens to improve its usability like my other Z lenses.Close focus is quite adequate and the filter size is fine; no large and expensive filters needed! I was lucky to snag a copy of this lens last year since most vendors list this lens perpetually out of stock.Compared to the 24-120 or the 28-300 on the FX cameras, this lens is much smaller, lighter and more useable. Compared to similar lenses on M43, this is about as close as one can come though much larger and slower, but still quite useable. On the Z6 in low light, the image quality at higher ISOs is still better than a faster all-in-one on M43, IMO, having shot both. I like the size/weight of the smaller system, but the durability of the Nikon combo and overall image quality is just better!Even as the 24-200 is today, I'd probably even rate it a little higher to 4.5 stars overall.
