NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3

Purchased as a kit lens with my ZR. Like how compact and light it is. Interesting it did not come with a bayonet hood. Like this as an everyday lens for "street" photography types of use. So far images are good. Wish it had a bit more on the telephoto end, but it probably would be a lot larger. Never seen a Nikon lens where you had to extend lens to get it to work, but I supposed it takes the place of a traditional zoom lock. Just different. So far no complaints.

I bought this lens with the Z5 on 10/3/25 for my street photography and to travel with. I normally shoot with the Z8 with the 24-120mm f/4 but wanted something smaller and let me tell you it over exceeded my expectations in every way possible I’ve only shot with it for a couple days due to my work schedule but I couldn’t be happier. If you are on a budget or want a more compact camera the Z5 with the 24-50mm lens is the way to go. I shoot both JPEG and Raw and was very impressed with how well this set performs. It’s great in low light environments.

I called this little lens the nifty 50 because it has all the requirements I need for some basic photography … if you’re starting out, this is the lens to start with and then progressively move up the food chain to some of the S line Nikkor lenses, and you will never regret it

I bought this for my wife's use as she has some arm and wrist strength issues right now. The lens is very light and all plastic, perfect for the price and the purpose I bought it. I was surprised at how sharp and functional it is, I don't like the plastic mounting ring thus the deduction of one star. At this price point the f stops are going to be high, otherwise it would be a lot heavier and expensive. Overall, I like it and am happy with the pictures it takes. My wife likes it too.

Bought and have been playing with for the last few days. I like the smooth and the quality of the build. I'm going to take on a 2 week travel around Europe next with and the compact size will be perfect for traveling and packing. I've paired with a Z5ii and the whole unit feels great. Im impress on the picture quality.

Used the lens one time for a sunset with an ND filter. Pleased with the results.
