Perfect travel camera
Posted by Reuben Pinkson on September 17, 2024
As a non-professional photographer who wanted a high performing mirrorless camera, the Zf just checks off all the boxes for me. As an architect, I also appreciate the design of the Zf and the the tribute it is to the film cameras of the past. It truly is a great camera for travel and street photography. Can't wait for my next trip!

Dependably Delightful
Posted by E L on August 30, 2024
I am in love with this camera. The autofocus is incredible. I love taking night street photography so the IBIS is absolutely game changing. This camera is noticeably heavier than the ZFC however the benefits are worth the extra weight. Highly recommend a grip as the ergonomics are similar to the ZFC…but heavier. 10/10 would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a dependably delightful full frame camera.

Great camera
Posted by William McArthur on June 16, 2024
A beautiful piece of hardware. Ergonomics are definitely retro, but the compact size is great for travel. It does feel different than most current designs, but with a little experience is easy to use, even with larger lenses. Absolutely stunning pictures.

Full-time working Photographer and had this camera for about a month now. There’s something really special about it. The focusing and exposure are inline with my professional Nikon cameras. Manual lenses paired with this focusing system makes this an artist's dream.

The Best Z
Posted by PETER KLEINSCHMIDT on May 24, 2024
I am a Nikon devotee and a professional photographer. My backup camera is now the Z6ll, as the Zf has replaced it as my number one camera. I started Z6, which I upgraded to the 6ll.I liked the Z50, which I traded in for the ZFC and wished I had kept the Z50. The Z5 could not keep up with my shooting style. I traded in for the new Z24-120 lens, my personal favorite. My last trade was the ZFc, and my DF for the Zf. I hoped I would like it and that it would work with my fast shooting style. After years with the Z line, I did not know what to expect with the Zf. My first job was a school awards ceremony, where I shot over 300 images and I was totally blown away with the Zf, as the only consistancy is change. The lighting and focusing were inconsistent, changing throughout the shootI shot manually, switching back and forth, depending on the situation, to program mode using a Nikon SB-910 flash. The Zf worked so well that I could not believe it. The Zf focused quickly and responded seamlessly to every lighting and focusing situation, which changed throughout the shoot.I love, love, love this camera. It is second to none. It is the best camera I have used since switching from film over a decade ago. I always add a half case, which improves the grip, and a shutter release button. I am a huge fan of retro style, which reminds me of my old film cameras, and occasionally, people think I am shooting film. Get this camera; you will enjoy shooting with it, I promise. The only regret is missing out on the special backpack they are offering with your purchase.

A Nearly Perfect Walk Around Camera
Posted by Will Stattman on May 24, 2024
The Zf is a super fun camera for casual use. Paired with the two small SE lenses it's compact, stylish, and very capable. Using the old-school manual controls feels a lot like shooting film on my FE. The autofocus is nearly as good as the Z9 and the manual focus aids work well too. It will change up the shooting process for you and give you new inspiration. My complaints about the Zf so far are minor. Since the top dials and command dials are redundant controls, there can be some funny interactions between them. For example, Auto ISO is a little odd since it can only be engaged when the ISO dial is at "C". Why not allow it to be switched on any time? Or give Auto ISO its own spot on the dial below "C" or 100. I would have also completely left out the rear screen to reduce the thickness and weight of the camera, the EVF alone would suffice, but that would be an extremely polarizing design decision. My last gripe is that the SE lenses should really have physical aperture rings for the complete ergonomic experience, but that is not a drawback of the camera body itself.Lastly, it is important to have the right expectations with this camera. It has Nikon's latest bells and whistles and is capable of amazing image quality, but shooting with larger lenses on it is not fun. The Zf is not the right tool for event photography, the ergonomics are not designed for that. Even with an added grip your hands will hurt, and there are no custom shooting banks to recall settings. Don't get a ZF for a Z9's job. This is a lifestyle snapshot camera, and it is AWESOME. There are no other retro style full frame cameras that can compete anywhere near this price point. The Fujis are APSC and Leicas are much more expensive without superior performance. I can't wait to add more manual focus Z mount lenses to my collection. It's hard to put this camera down =)

Love my Nikon Zf
Posted by Chris Smelko on May 24, 2024
I spent about 6 months researching the best mirrorless camera to buy. In the end I ended up purchasing a Zf and do not regret the decision at all. The camera is rock solid and built like a tank. I always have fun when I’m using it and it motivates me to go out and enjoy taking pictures. In addition to the pictures the video quality is excellent and the low light capabilities make this camera even more worth it. Skip the X-T5 or X100IV and get the Zf instead!
