This is the only lens I've had since buying my new Z6ii and I have to say it was the best thing I could have done, going straight into a primes lens with such a low F-stop has been a dream. It works well and gets the job done

Very Good Lens. Light sharp but no stabilization.
Posted by Robert Nelson on December 3, 2023
This lens works great on my full frame Z7 and now my Z8. But on my Z50 you have to be very careful to keep your hand steady. For me that means that for photos it is fine, but video without image stabilization it is difficult on the unstabilized body.

Nice single lens travel option

Very lightweight and a great travel option of having one lens in between the 35mm and 50mm range.

Corner cutting of Z 40/2 Nikkor.
Posted by Alan Wilder on April 14, 2022
I just got this lens as it's always been one of my favorite focal lengths with the perfect speed of f/2 in a lightweight package. I'll take some test shot later and expect it to do reasonably well. My biggest complaint is that the lens mount is plastic like their entry level DSLR kit lenses, not the hardened chrome plated brass used in lenses worthy of the professional moniker "Nikkor". I would have gladly paid a few $$ more for a lens with a metal mount as I don't know if the plastic lugs over time may chip with extended use thus fouling up my camera. I know it's not an S model lens, but what were you thinking Nikon?
