It's fast and has an incredible image processor. The 3D tracking is amazing as is the burst rate. The only slight negative comment I'd have is it does have a little too long of a delay rousing itself from sleep mode, while only a couple of tenths of a second it could mean losing an important image, but I can accept the trade off, keep a couple of extra batteries handy and turn off the feature. I'm coming from a D850, which I love, but I'd highly recommend the Z9 to anyone considering going mirrorless!

Finally I can take a photo and not scare the birds away. I simply set the volume to 1 and I can hear the sound of the picture being taken but the birds can’t. The quality of the picture is great at most ASA - ISO settings. It is very helpful to look at the screen and focus and shoot without moving the camera to the eye and scaring wildlife away in the process.

The photos are incredibly, even in low light. Love shooting with my Z9.

I have been a Nikon user for many years now and have a great collection of Nikon lenses. The Z9 has worked flawlessly with the Nikon lenses using the adapter. It is working great for all genera of photography.

This is hands down the best Nikon camera I've ever owned. Top notch ergonomics, battery life for days, affordable glass, focus speed, DOF, and the colors are absolutely unbeatable. My only complaint is the animal tracking just isn't reliable, even on very high contrast subjects, but it can be worked around. Really glad that I went with this over a competitor. You have to work a little more for the shot sometimes but the result will always be better.

Amazing! The the autofocus

Overall this is a great camera. If I can think of a creative to shoot an image this camera combined with the S-Line lens can make it happen. The clarity is hands down the best I've seen on the market. The amount of control that you have before and during the shot is unbelievable. I was worried about battery life for such a beast. I mainly shoot northern lights in Alaska. No worries about battery drain. I can shoot all night in freezing conditions and still have over 3/4 of the battery left. Weather sealing is great. Now the negatives. I feel that this mirrorless camera did not get the memo from advertising. This camera is a beautiful but heavy beast. With an equivalent lens attached to my Z9, My D810 is Significantly lighter! My Z9 feels almost twice as heavy. Not a great thing for long hikes. The S-line glass is equally as heavy. My only other gripe is the charger that came with the camera went belly up 2 months after purchase. I've been forced to charge in-camera via cable. Not so bad if I only had one battery, except that I have two. This means that I have to wait twice as long to charge two batteries because I can only charge one at a time. All in all the negatives would never keep me from purchasing this camera and I would definitely recommend to serious photographers.

I've been a Nikon pro/user for 30 years and this is by far the best camera they have ever produced. I've never bought two bodies of the same model until this camera... after using it three months this was enough of a leap forward; I didn't want my second carry body to be my old D6 and ordered a second Z9. It works flawlessly with my F mount AF-S lenses via the FTZII. The major firmware updates unlocked new features that made it an entirely better camera than I originally bought and the support has been great (I had a drop I needed fixed on one body and they turned it around quickly for me. I look forward to the future pro mirrorless models from Nikon.

Great camera all around! I upgraded from a Z6 and was worried the weight and size of the Z9 would be too bulky, but it has wonderful grips and I had no trouble adjusting. Photo quality is exquisite, of course.
