Very Surprised by this camera!
Posted by David White on January 12, 2026
My purchase of the Z30 has given me options when shooting professionally or personally. I bought the Z30 to act as a "travel" camera and as a test bed for camera profiles created in Nikon Studio initially. Now I have integrated the Z30 into my photography ecosystem, where it complements my Z6 II, Z7 II, and D750 perfectly. Additionally, I am able to utilize my entire lens arsenal, from my entire legacy F-mount to the current Z-mount platform. Nothing in the quality and performance of what I've adopted as the "Nikon Standard" is lost in the Z30. It has now become my daily grab-and-shoot camera! What a great purchase!

Great lightweight Camera
Posted by Charles Conti on January 9, 2026
I bought this camera body . I had 16 to 50mm lens not being used , a backup to my ZFC with 28 to 400mm .I like the size easy to handle when I don't need my ZFC , It takes great videos and pictures.

Small frame full featured

Still learning all the features. I love the small, light but solid feel of this camera. It fits in a small fishing shoulder bag and meets my need for a camera I can carry everywhere.

I came for the value but am impressed with the quality.

I'm giving the z30 five stars because of its value. I recently bought my second z30 directly from Nikon because of the ease of shooting video. What has surprised me is the utility and quality as an additional camera for still photos as well. My primary camera is still the d850, but the z30 as a companion for video clips and some still applications. I wanted to stay within the Nikon menu system which I have become familiar with over years and investigate the mirrorless platform. The video is almost as easy as using a smartphone but with a lot more options and quality.

Compact Beauty!
Posted by DARREN W BROWN on December 4, 2025
I just bought a Z30 with a Z DX 24mm F1.7 lens. This is now my "Daily Carry" camera. I use it for less important events as well. I do own a Z8 for my professional stuff. It's refreshing just how small/light the Z30. I love everything about it. I do wish it had IBIS, however. Outside of that, it's essentially perfect for a smaller, lighter camera.

Just Right to Quote Goldilocks
Posted by Jim Nelson on October 20, 2025
The Z30 is perfect for my purposes. I use a Z8 and a Z9 body for my wildlife still photography. I wanted to add video capability for behind the scenes, group activities and some wildlife moments while still having my full frame bodies available and set-up for nature. The Z30 can come along on even the most weight restricted trips. It fits in a jacket pocket without getting in the way of my main kit. Best of all, for someone with limited video experience it was amazingly easy to learn and use. A just right fit for my needs.

Good Camera, unclear instructions.

I like the camera however, I have not been able to figure out how to connect to my iPhone via Bluetooth or WiFi. I have spent hours trying to figure it out.

Another winner from Nikon
Posted by billy on September 22, 2025
I got a refurbished Z30 this past year. I like it a lot and have the Nikon DX 12-28 lens attached.I would have given it 5 stars but I cannot charge the battery when it is in the camera using the correct connection cord. So I bought a plug in charger from B&H and I can now remove the battery and charge the battery.I like the fold out screen but I wish it had a viewfinder, maybe the Z30 II will have one. I do like the fact it has a hot shoe and I can attach my Nikon SB 900, it takes wonderful fill flash images.I also own several Nikon DSLR cameras and the Z8 with several telephoto primes.
