5Fantastic cameraPosted by Ken Williams on April 2, 2025 In one word, PHENOMONAL! Wish I hadn't waited so long to get one!

5Truly the z9 mini me!Posted by RICHARD YATES on April 1, 2025 I am the owner of two z9s and had a z7ii which I traded up for the z8. Wow! It is the mini me of the z9. I wanted a great camera that was smaller than the z9 as a carry around. I was amazed as I love the size, set it up with the same features as the z9. The only drawback is the smaller battery/life. I would highly recommend it as a VERY close sibling to the z9.

5Great first impressionsPosted by Jon Nelson on March 31, 2025 I'm still learning all of the various functions, but so far the camera is amazing. The bird and animal eye auto focus functions are incredible, and work amazingly well even with my old 200-500 and the FTZ adapter. I can't wait to get some Z lenses to use with the camera.

55 plus less the FillPosted by Keendawggy on March 27, 2025 If you’re a Nikon Gal or Guy don’t think twice. Only one thing. I was trained to use one lens and carrier light and not a flash. It would have been nice to have a built in for Fill. I know many would disagree, but if you’re lake most photog’s you have a bag and a flash…. Just not me. Ciao!

5Nikon keeps forcing me to buy new cameras!Posted by Diana C. on March 27, 2025 My first Nikon was an F4 (moving from a Canon A-1). I thought the F4 was perfect. Then VR lenses came along and I got an F5 and thought, okay, now THIS camera is perfect.I resisted digital for a long time, thinking that ‘real’ photographers shoot film. Eventually I broke down and purchased a D750. A year later I traded up to D780. Now thoroughly converted to digital, I picked up a D850. I thought the D850 perfect and could not be improved upon (and in the world of DSLRs it really has not been) but then came mirrorless. I eventually picked up Z7II, and was impressed with its capabilities but found it a little too small for me to handle comfortably. So a few weeks ago, I traded in my D780 and my Z7II for a Z8.Well,now I have another Nikon that I think is perfect, but I’m sure Nikon will find some way to prove me wrong!

5Flagship Camera in anyone’s book!Posted by Jimmy on March 26, 2025 Wow! I’ve shot professionally for years and owned all the big brands. This is a fantastic camera. Buttons where they should be. Simple to operate. Easy to read menus. Fast speeds. AF is sticky and works well. Highly recommend this camera for the ultimate hybrid. I don’t think there is a better one out there. Beautiful video and the images out of this camera are stunning!

5Z8 is a technological tour de force !Posted by Silverback on March 26, 2025 Great camera! Instant focus for birds in flight , even with legacy nikkor lenses. Very accurate exposure — preserving highlight AND shadow detail, nice trick ! Amazing frame rate , even at full resolution. I like the “i” panel to quickly change modes. Still have much to learn about the camera coming from D5 & D500. This Z8 is a true technology tour de force in my view!
