    Incredible low light performance

    Last night I had a chance to really see how it would perform. It did so, beautifully! The event was a second annual gala at the Franklin Institute. The lighting in the presentation are was challenging at best. I pushed ISO well beyond what I’m comfortable with and images the just blew me away. My only issue was my muscle memory from the Z6II kept getting in the way. Other than that, it may be the best investment I’ve made in a camera body up to now. If you’re fence; get off!

    Great for bird photography

    I am a bird photographer. I use the Z 8 with the 800mm PF 6.3. It is a lighter option to my Z 9 and 600mm F4. I am keeping my Z 9 but the Z8 is outstanding and has performed just as well. I was concerned about battery life but so far it has performed great. I have not used it yet in the cold Minnesota winter but I will keep two batteries with me when that time of year returns. I would absolutely recommend the Z 8 to anyone that is looking for fast focus, 3D tracking, great all weather reliability.

    I have a Z7 II, which is a fine camera. I purchased a Z8 because of the auto focus and subject tracking and I am very happy with it.

    Love this camera! I’ve taken about 4,000 pictures so far and I’m extremely satisfied. Still learning all the bells and whistles this camera has to offer. I upgraded from the D700 so this is light years ahead of what I’m used to.

    I Was shooting with a D500 DSLR unfortunately that camera started to have issues. So I went out and bought the Z8. For now all I can say is So far so good it is living up to the hype.

    Great Camera With Only a Couple of Shortcomings

    Excellent camera, but battery life is dismal. Love the tracking and programmability. Handling and ergonomics are good. Wish it had two CFExpress slots. I hope that Nikon considers firmware upgrades at least for a while, rather than just coming out with a new model to make this obsolete.

    As a full time commercial photography that upgraded from a Z7ii, this thing is an absolute powerhouse.Even my lenses perform significantly better with this body.I couldn't be any more happier. It reminds me of how I felt when I unboxed my D850 after using D750s for so long. What an absolute Unit.
