Once you learn it you will be Blown Away
Posted by Lillian J Madden on February 2, 2024
First thing I will say is give yourself some time and watch a lot of videos to learn the power of this amazing camera. The range, focal points, color and ease ( once you learn it) are like no other camera I have ever had in the twenty years as a professional. I am also blown a way at how it shoots jpeg format as I have shot nothing but raw the last ten years. I photographed dogs at the park in jpeg mode and with the help of Lightroom, there was basically no edit needed. This is my all time favorite Nikon!!!!!!!!!!!! and with the Z70-200mm 2.8 VR lens - you will be a master at our craft!!!!!!

Z8 is Brilliant!
Posted by David Palomaki on January 26, 2024
I have been shooting with my new Z8 for a few months now. Focus speed and accuracy is really good allowing me to concentrate more on composition than just trying to achieve focus on fast or erratic moving subjects. I already have a Z7 that I purchased a few years ago which has brilliant image quality but just struggles to focus consistently on anything that moves. The Z7 was my first Nikon and first mirrorless camera and I have had a blast shooting with it and gotten lots of great shots. Having researched the new mirrorless lens technology prior to purchasing the Z7 made the Nikon decision pretty easy for me. Just the wait for the capability of the Z8 camera was a bit longer than I had hoped but it was definitely worth it! The Z8 is great to hold and operate - take the time to learn how to use the capabilities this camera has; assign a few custom features that you need to the buttons that work for you. Once you get the Z8 set up the way you like it, the camera is absolutely a killer out it the field. Folks have complained about battery life on the Z8. Yes, the batteries do not last as long as they do on my Z7, but I have not found the reduction to be significant during the outdoor photography that I do; I only have one spare battery and no need for another. In summary, the Z8 is an absolutely brilliant camera coupled with the fantastic NIKKOR Z mirrorless lenses. I am super happy with my purchase. Thank you Nikon!

FIRST STEPS WITH THE NIKON Z*
Posted by Oliver Flint on January 22, 2024
I have been using a D850 since the camera first became available on the market. The Z8 is the perfect replacement, though it will take me quite some time to upgrade all my glass. In the meantime I have found that the lenses I already own work beautifully with the Nikon adapter. producing sharp photos with I think better color science than I had with the D850. Video was not nearly as advanced on the D850, though I always found it to be reliable and actually quite good, even from the seat of a car traveling on unmade roads in the Himalayas, possibly because in-lens vibration reduction was very serviceable. I am looking forward to exploring the full capability of Z8 video.

One Small Step for RAW One Giant Leap for Nikon
Posted by Rose Norris on January 21, 2024
The photo capabilities on my Z8 are astonishing! I'm a photographer who LOVES shooting Athletes... Surfers, Tennis players, Baseball games... or just hanging out at Venice Beach on a SoCal weekend - The Z8 is WELL worth the investment. My keeper rate has EXPLODED to unbelievable levels - and I've only dipped my toes in for one month!! Next up? Video!! Feeling overwhelmed! Stay Tuned....

Z7II to Z8
Posted by Johnnie Johnnie on January 21, 2024
I'm a long-time Nikon user. Moving up from the Z7II to the Z8 was night and day. I'm blown away by how packed with enhancements and great functionality at a decent price. Setting up the Z8 was exciting. I'm just breaking the surface. Nikon hit this one out of the park.
