    Z7II to Z8

Posted by Johnnie Johnnie on January 21, 2024

I'm a long-time Nikon user. Moving up from the Z7II to the Z8 was night and day. I'm blown away by how packed with enhancements and great functionality at a decent price. Setting up the Z8 was exciting. I'm just breaking the surface. Nikon hit this one out of the park.

Great camera and a wise purchase

Posted by SUSAN CAMPBELL on January 18, 2024

A transition from OM-1 has been a bit of a challenge for an 82 year old man, but after owning for two weeks I'm getting clean shots of flying birds. The menu system is new to me, but I'm getting the hang of it. Everything is very well constructed and I'm grateful to be able to have such a wonderful camera. Also have the z100-400 and the z600mm pf which are great as well. Looking forward to a Firmware update similar to what the Z9 received a few months ago.

    Great camera!

Posted by Andrew Andrew on January 16, 2024

Much improved tracking over the Z6ii. A little heavier but well built and feature packed. Once the camera is set up for versatility,, It becomes a game of muscle memory when trying to get that awesome capture.

    Great Camera

All around great camera. It has much improved features over my Z7ii. Feels really good in the hand without the need for extra grip type plates. The shutter curtain is an A+ addition to help keep the sensor free of dust.

    Brilliant

As a long time Nikon shooter and having used many bodies I absolutely love the Z8 for my wildlife photography, especially birding, still getting used to the amazing auto focus modes but the learning curve was easy enough, I still have my venerable D500 and the Z6.I love the well built, solid body, feels like a real camera

A relationship to last a lifetime

Posted by LARRY HUDSPETH on January 8, 2024

The very first image was a keeper! And, as I learn how to use this powerhouse (had a D750 previously,) I am discovering a whole new world and inspiration for photography. I notice some have some issues with how certain features are implemented, but the other side of that coin is that this camera has feature sets that take advantage of the advances in digital photography and mirrorless image capture. And the macros!!!! It took a little experimentation, but I really like the built-in focus bracketing. Overall, I am very impressed and look forward to a very long relationship.
