Meets and goes beyond expectations in AF and low-light performance!

Posted by Francisco Solares-Larrave on July 29, 2023

I am one very satisfied customer! In fact, my experience with this camera cemented my decision to stay with mirrorless bodies, even though I have some serious money invested in F-mount glass and one great body (the D850). Since my first mirrorless was a Z5, I knew what to expect in terms of handling. However, I was still very pleasantly surprised at how easy to use this body can be... and how light! My purchase was on impulse, and only three days after receiving the camera I left for Europe, on a 9 week-long trip. Even though I had very little time to familiarize myself with this camera menus, now that I used it with a 24-200 lens, I find it very capable. The AF is better than the Z5's (not yet there at the D850 level), the low-light performance is just great, and even the battery use left me satisfied. I had considered to sell this and my Z5 to purchase a Z8, but now I'm rethinking the idea because this camera works very well and I have found a body that I trust as much as I used to trust my D700.

    Very good camera

Posted by Hussein Aliyu on July 28, 2023

Its a very good camera though a bit small for my hands. Am always changing apertures because my right index finger is touching the aperture dial inadvertently. The blackouts and also autofocus can be improved.Otherwise great Camera but not for those with large hands.

    Great investment

Posted by James Baron-Murray on July 28, 2023

I love the physical quality, the colors that the camera produces, and the ease of use. It might not be the easiest for beginners, but if they go to YouTube there are lost of user guide tutorials. The battery life is great for my use. When doing video, my cf card tends to over heat, but that can be my card. I take pictures using the cf express and the SD card for video. As well documented, sometimes the auto focus isn't the fastest, but when it hits, it's sharp and clean.

    Great for low light

Posted by Melody Hoover on July 26, 2023

This camera is doing the job for me, indoor and low light images are sharp up to 8000 ISO, very little grain, very happy. I've used the camera for a car show, indoor music event and street photos at this point, looking forward to portraits and family photos next.

Z6II replaced my D850 and works well

Posted by Edward Williams on July 26, 2023

The Z6II replaced my D850. So far the camera is meeting my needs. The only issue I find is the AF speed and tracking could be slightly improved. Low light performance is pretty great.

Nikon Z6II, an excellent all around full frame mirrorless camera.

Posted by Stanley Obert on July 24, 2023

The Nikon Z6II is an excellent and versatile camera. It can be used for nature, sports, events, and it has superb high iso performance for indoor lighting. Nikon has done a great job with firmware updates!

    New Nikon lover.

Posted by Bert Fox on July 20, 2023

As a previous Sony and Canon user I say goodbye to you.
I am so pleased with my first Nikon, quality, beauty and functionality has me gibberish. The planning that went into the design must have been mountainous. To say I'm pleased would be an understatement.
Great customer care and quick shipping provided.
    Thank You Nikon.

Static subjects photographers will be happy with z6ii

Posted by Richard Davis on July 16, 2023

I've had the z6ii for more than a year. I'm an enthusiast though I've sold a few photos over the years. I upgraded from a d7200. I love the z6ii noise levels coming from an older d7200 crop sensor but I miss getting more photos in focus. I spray a bit on purpose to get a few photos in focus. But I miss birds in flight and action shots. I often don't even attempt them because I assume failure is most likely. I like the use for landscape photos I don't think there is any reason not to buy for static subjects. I know the focus issues have been fixed for the most part in the z8 and z9 but the cost will have me buy used in a few years. Autofocus has been improved with more up to date lenses but still lacking.

Z6 II is great all around mirrorless

Posted by Paul Greiner on July 13, 2023

My company shot with the Z6 & Z7 (along with DSLR's) for a year and then upgraded to Z6 II, Z7 II & most recently Z8. The Z6 II is used for real estate and the Z6 II is perfect for a traveling with as it can shoot & film accurately. I recommend adding the NB-N11 battery pack that doubles the shoot time and the larger grip fits my hand better. I also like having the dual controls of the NB-N11 when shooting portraits. I had the NB-N10 on the Z6 & Z7 but upgraded to the newer dual NB-N11 control units. I never worry about power when filming with dual batteries.
