    Wow. What a cam!

Posted by Christopher Erickson on April 7, 2026

I am a low light and astrophotography enthusiast and the Z6iii is better than my Z6ii, which was better than my Z6, which was way better than my D750! If you are looking for a stellar performer (pun intended) for low light shooting and full-blown astrophotography, this cam beats every other mainstream cam currently on the market. Of course it doesn't beat the serious, dedicated, cooled, pricy astro cams. I have attached two astrophotos. One of Andromeda and one of Orion. Classic objects, done a million times by other photogs. But these two are quite special to me! Both are UNRETOUCHED images taken directly from the camera, exactly as the Z6 captured them.Orion was a single 60 second exposure and Andromeda was a single 120 second exposure. On a windy night, with an Alt-Az mount. If you want to do stacking and noise reduction, the results just keep getting more and more impressive. It is all I can do to keep myself from buying a second Z6iii.This camera would be almost perfect if they would just put a GPS chip inside! And make the Bluetooth LE interface fully standards compliant! And please finally fix SnapBridge and make it useful!

Huge step up from my old D80 - and a LOT to learn! Love it so far, but much more to come.

    Powerful Camera for the Price

Posted by Steven Schoenfelder on April 2, 2026

I bought this camera bundled with 24-120mm f/4 lens. Great pictures so far. Used it to shoot a baseball game and three bicycle races adding up to about 7k images. Autofocus did well in spite of my inexperience and the challenges of sports photography. Love the ergonomics. I have two D780's that I currently use for sports photography. The autofocus on this camera is a significant upgrade from the DSLR's. The lens is fantastic with minimal loss of quality in the corners. I am looking forward to obtaining longer lenses for sports and nature photography. I also plan to use this as a travel camera given the size and weight. Should pair well with the Z40mm f/2 and Z26mm f/2.8 mm lenses for street and travel photos

    Old school dslr to Z6iii

Posted by Patrick Renzi on March 30, 2026

So far, so good….,I’ve shot a number of different scenarios, and am very happy, excited about the Z6iii.Still going through all the options for focusing, but everything I’ve tried works.Still early for a total review, but I reasonably confident that I made a good choice.

I absolutely love this camera. I get the best action shots of my dogs and also great landscape photos. A very good all around camera.

A great camera that performs beyond its price point.

I've owned numerous Nikon cameras over the years and even had the Z8 at one time. However, I seldom do video and found the Z6III to be a better fit for my needs. And yes, I will include the Z7III in my camera bag once it comes out. However, I will still use the Z6III for my daily use. This camera has really good low light capabilities, weather proofing, and quality to handle my day-to-day use. So far, I have not found the MP count on this camera to be an issue for any of my work nor has any of my clients. Overall, I would consider this to be a very good camera.

    New Nikon Z6-3

Posted by peter meshanic on March 21, 2026

I bought this to be my backup and second camera to my Z9 on game shooting days. It is replacing my d750 that ive had for many years and love dearly and kept to keep my foot in the dslr world too. I spent a few days reading and learning the functions of this camera and then took it out to shoot a lacrosse game and then a few basketball games. I was really impressed with the sharpness of the images SOOC. I had a few issues learning the different settings on the U1,U2,U3 settings but overall am very impressed with this camera. I was going to buy a Z8 to be the second camera for games, but now am quite happy that I went with this one.
