JUMPING INTO THE MIRRORLESS WORLD WITH THE Z6II.

Posted by WILLIAM FOLSOM on May 15, 2021

I've always used professional DSLR cameras. Once Nikon introduced the Z62 (with two card slots) I decided it was time to give new technology a try. It's been a fun, but sometimes challenging, change. I totally enjoy being able to immediately see the exposure as I change my settings. That's pretty awesome. Sharpness can be awesome when I can capture the image. The D5 was a tad faster I believe. Downloading speeds are slower with the Z62, but that's understandable. Otherwise, it's a fun learning camera. I'll buy the Z9 (if they release a professional model) based on my experience with the Z62. In summary, Don't get rid of your D5 or D6, but make the plunge into mirrorless. It's a great experience and will get you ready for future developments.

    Z6ii and MB-N11 review

Posted by THOMAS HENN on May 15, 2021

I've been a Nikon user since the early 70's back when the EL was the camera to use. There have been many generation upgrades over the years and the last two were the D850 and D4s. Since going to the Z6II, the setting options are many, so I took the time to educate myself to this camera including adding the MB-N11 to this camera. It was a great choice. With the new firmware upgrade for the eye detection, it is spot on for portrait work. I'm blown away by how sharp the images are at f2.8. I love my D4s for the fast action sports work and can't wait to try the Z6ii out with MB-N11. The dual batteries give me the confidence to shoot as much and as long as I need too. The plugin to charge the MB-N11 makes it so you don't have to pull the batteries at the end of the day. It was truly worth the investment as a pro.

    Z6ii for Sports

Posted by Richard McEnery on May 14, 2021

This is one amazing camera. Shooting sports with the F mount 70-200 combined with subject tracking, I have been nailing the focus on player's faces.

Excellent! Fast and great with high ISO

Posted by James Ironmonger on May 14, 2021

On the day I received the Z6 II, we went on a night trip to Knik Glacier, here in Alaska. This trip is over a primitive trail, on accessible with special vehicles, and it's a rough ride. During the trip in and out, I shot while sitting in the front seat of one of these trucks, handheld, and at ISO 51,200. I did some astrophotography, shots around a fire, etc., and all were useable, which is amazing, considering the lighting conditions.I previously owned a Z6, and thoroughly enjoyed it. But, it is noticeable how much better the Z6 II is, with more focusing modes, better focusing speed, etc..

    Incredible overall broad purpose camera.

Posted by Dr Steven Gottlieb on May 14, 2021

An Excellent all around camera. I do not know which would be the best camera for everything, but the Z6ii is for sure among the best overall. The firmware upgrade that Nikon recently released and the ones expected to be released have a will do a lot for the camera and brand. When thinking about this camera, you would be remiss if you did not consider the incredible Z lenses you can get for it. One of the stellar point in this camera is its menu system. Don't underestimate the importance of the menu system.

    My Z6ii

Posted by MARIANNE N/A on May 14, 2021

Absolutely love the Z6ii. Great flexibility throughout the menu systems, easy to use, and love the three User Settings. Went from a D300S, which was great for a C sensor to the full frame Z. No regrets.

    Wonderful Z6 II

Posted by howard libbey jr on May 13, 2021

I've been Nikon Pro for many years, and completely mirrorless now for 3 years. I keep a D500 on hand for certain situations, but the Z6 II and Z7 II are amazing machines....photographic tools. The version II cameras are great upgrades. Super light weight, rock solid performance, completely wonderful video

    Happy with switch from D800

Posted by Maurice Leatherbury on May 13, 2021

I switched from my beloved D800/24-70 f2.8 because I wanted something lighter and that would handle my frequent camera movements when shooting better than the older camera. I've been very pleasantly surprised at how well the Z 6II performs, especially with the 24-200 f4-6.3 lens. Now I don't have to switch lenses when I want to go longer, as I did with the D800.I was initially concerned about the loss of resolution from the D800's 36Mp to the Z 6II's 24 Mp format, but even on my 30" monitor I can hardly see any difference in photo quality from the two cameras. And with Photoshop's new "enhance detail" tool (which works amazingly well), the reduction in resolution that I was worried about is a moot point now.In short, I love my new Z 6II and am looking forward to many more years of good photographs with it!

    Loving my Nikon Z6ii

Posted by Lisa Streeter on May 13, 2021

I’m new to photography so the fact that my pictures turn out is all camera! I’m having a blast with it. The other day I was able to capture my first bird in flight!! The only thing I can’t figure out is how to have a new storage folder for each day. My video camera has that feature which is great for trips with multiple days of shooting.
