NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S

For its size and weight, this lens has nice contrast and is sharp. Sure, the F2.8 is sharper but at the cost of larger size, greater weight, and much higher price. The 24 - 70mm focal range makes it a good walk-around lens and the fact that it compresses to a smaller size for transport makes it possible to fit camera and lens into a small light weight shoulder bag.

WOW! This lens is fantastic! I tested it against all my F lenses, and it is sharper at every setting and scenario! Almost NO CA at all! Very impressed with the quality! I made a 20x30 print with 200 people in it and the quality is fantastic.

I have used this lens extensively with my Nikon Z7 over the past four months (of a five month road trip) from Texas to Alaska and back and I am very pleased with the clarity of the resulting images over a wide range of weather and lighting conditions.

This lens works extremely well, is easy to use, and the imaging is perfect.

The lens is light but solid feeling. Photos have been sharp, as expected. I did experience some dust contamination inside the lens due to the seal/telescoping action. Nikon fixed it under warranty.

Don´t think of this as a kit or entry level lens. It is sharp sharp sharp with nice bokeh and separation under the right conditions.

Waiting for a few new Z lens to come out but my kit will eventually be: 20mm f/1.8S, 24-70mm f/4, 85mm f/1.8S and the upcoming 70-200mm f/4S or 100-300mm f/4S.

I really love the 24-70 f/4 S lens. Until I received my 85 f/1.8 S lens it was almost exclusively mounted on my Z6. Now the time is split 50/50. I love the sharpness of the lens as well as the quick and accurate focus. You cannot even here the lens motor when it is focusing.
The shots are very sharp even wide open. I thought about upgrading to the 24-70 f/2.8 but I enjoy this lens so much I saved my money for the 85 f/1.8 instead and I am ANYTHING but disappointed.

Bought the Z6 24/70 F4 Lens Kit a while back. Been using the Z6 for portraits for a while now and have loved it. Was hesitant to use the 24/70 F4 for what ever reason choosing my Nikkor 24/70 F2.8 instead. Last night I had to shoot a senior night at the football game for the team I cover and decided to try the Nikkor Z 24/70 F.4 S to shoot the seniors with their parents. In processing after the game I was amazed at the quality of the images. Very pleasant surprise.

This is a good lens, compact lightweight lens. I use this for travel along with the 14-24 F4 and it is a great combo for travel and getting great shots.
