    Great lens

Posted by woytekd on December 25, 2019

I was not expecting to really see how useful this lens would be. Since it´s called a ´´kit´´ lens I expected less quality but was surprised to see how great this lens is. The range of zoom is really useful, the optics really crisp and since it is designed for the Z series it adds to the versatility of this camera.

    My travel-everyday lens

Posted by AndyPro on December 25, 2019

I have been using this lens for a month now. I liked so far. Is really sharp edge to edge without any visible chromatic aberration. The AutoFocus of the Z lineup is just amazing. The only that makes me give 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. I think that $999 for a f/4 lens isn´t right.

    Very good mid-range zoom

Posted by kikutar on December 25, 2019

The 24-70 f/4 S is a very good kit zoom for the Z6 - as long as there is sufficient light. When ambient light level drops, the Z6 24-70 f/4 S combo struggles with slow/missed autofocus. The lack of a speedlite with functional AF assist led (speedlites with red AF assist leds don´t work on Z6/Z7) exacerbates this problem. For shooting in low light, the f/2.8 S version should perform better - I intend to swap my f/4S for a f/2.8S.

    Photos worth a 1000 words.

Attached Photos tell the real story. Clear and sharp considering the distant shots were taken through the windows of the 100 floor of One World Trade Center (WTC). No Polarizing filter.

    Sweet lens

Posted by LarG on December 25, 2019

The Sweet Spot is wide-open. Unlike DSLRs, the autofocus sensor is situated on the image sensor – not on a constantly moving mirror. With the advancements in lens technology and the Z-system´s greater light gathering – plus In Body Image Stabilization – f/4 is quite sufficient for MOST subjects and USERS.

    Great product!

Posted by Eagle on December 25, 2019

When I bought my Z6 I didn´t get the 24-70 F4 thinking I would shoot my old 24-70 F2.8, but after a little while and reading up on the Z 24-70 F4 I bought it. Wow, a great camera/lens combo and it stays on the Z6 all the time and gets a lot of use. I also shoot the D500 for birds and the D850 for special needs like fireworks.

Great kit lens, a good value

Posted by shampoo on December 25, 2019

I love having the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f4 S with my Z6. Very versatile lens not just for videos but landscapes and portraits as well. I shot family photos over Christmas and it performed exceptionally well on low light situations. A great value kit lens that I would recommend to anyone.

    Love the len!

Posted by GaryS on December 25, 2019

Great lens, it is very sharp corner to corner. At first, I had questions about the f/4, I must say, it does not bother me as the ISO is so good with the Z. The only think I am not keen with is the “fly by wire” of the lens. I like the feel of focus stops for marks.
