GREAT LENS
Posted by Phil1950 on June 17, 2019
I have been using the 14-24 f/2.8 F mount for a few years. I loved using it, especially for interiors in tight spaces. After purchasing the Z7, I purchased the new 14-30. I found it to be equal to or better than the 14-24. The IBIS in the Z7 made the loss of one f stop of light irrelevant. I am able to shoot hand held at much lower shutter speeds. The lens is sharp edge to edge and half the weight of my old lens. I also like the additional range up to 30 mm.

Fantastic addition to my stable of lens
Posted by Ozarks on June 17, 2019
I really like the 14-30 lens and it is one of my go to lenses when I am attending an activity that I have not been to before. I have found it to be very useful for taking video of lots of people. Also great for scenics.

First time using wide angle lens
Posted by ozflyer on June 17, 2019
Very impressed with the use of a wide angle lens on my Z6. Used it recently on trip to Paris and liked the clean photos it shot. Small vignette around 14 or so, no big deal, just cropped it out. I also like the size and weight. Easy use of 10 stop filter.

Fabulous addition
Posted by JohnW on June 17, 2019
14-30mm is fabulous for landscape and the quality is top notch - as expected from Nikon. I have gone from a D7100 to a 750 and now a Z7. This 14-30 lens provides super sharp, top quality photos and together with my 28-70mm Z lens covers a lot of territory with second-to-none quality!

Extraordinary images
Posted by Rojo227r on June 17, 2019
I was shocked by the quality of this lens. Edge to edge sharpness at all f stops. More important the image quality is extraordinaryit seems to jump off the page. I own the Nikon 14-24 f2:8, a great lens, but this is better, broader range and tales filters in the normal way.

Doesn´t disappoint!
Posted by NPSNikonian on June 17, 2019
While I haven´t done a direct comparison with my older 14-24mm lens, I believe this new lens performs better across the entire frame, especially at wide-opened and my 14-24mm is no slouch in terms of performance as it can easily meet or surpass my fixed focal length lenses in this range! I do a fair amount of architectural and LARGE group photography and the 14-24mm has served me admirably BUT, not being able to fit filters on this lens was a decided disadvantage and I have to use a third-party filter adapter which uses 115mm filters. Besides the filters being expensive, the whole outfit became extremely huge! The 14-30mm lens uses standard 82mm filters and having this feature permits me to use circular polarizers which helps in eliminating or subduing reflects from glass surfaces, something that I CAN´T do with my 14-24mm lens unless I use a humongous 115mm polarizer. Also, the 14-30mm lens can now be protected from front element damage by using an UV filter, again, something that I CAN do with my older lens but this adds dimensions to the lens and creates a problem with transporting it; I need a separate lens carrying case just to be able to use the lens in the field. The 14-30mm lens fits very comfortably in my small gadget bag which carries my Z7, 24-70mm f/4.0 (kit lens - wow, this is also fantastically sharp - may be the sharpest zoom lens in my Nikon lens arsenal and I have many Nikkor zooms!), FTZ adapter and my 35mm PC perspective correction lens. This makes it an ideal architectural outfit. With my older lens, I would have to have two travel cases with me, one JUST to hold and carry the 14-24mm. Does the f/4.0 aperture of the new lens give me any problems? No, absolutely not, as I can easily ´´bump´´ up my Z7´s ISO by one EV and the Z7 is extremely good in ´´controlling´´ its digital noise. Sharpness, size, weight, and its filter ability gives my 14-30mm a definite A rating. If you have a Z camera and loves landscapes and architectural photography, save your lunch money, stay away from Starbuck, walk and not take taxi rides until you have enough funds to buy this lens; you WON´T be disappointed!!!!!
