    Sharp lens, terrible barrel distortion

    I had hoped that this lens would replace my bulky 14-24mm f/2.8. Contrary to reports that Nikon worked with Adobe so that the barrel distortion would be mitigated when imported into Lightroom this is not my experience. I do a considerable amount of architectural shooting and I have to spend time with every image fixing the unacceptable barrel distortion. Might be OK for the landscape folks but it´s joke for buildings.

    Awesome lens for railroad photography

    I am a photojournalist and history writer. I photograph and write articles about historic steam locomotives. I often photograph in low lighting environments and restricted spaces. This lens is tack sharp and gives me great results. A number of my images have been used in railroad history publications.

    Love this lens. It is almost always on my Nikon Z6.

    Though I have the Z 35mm lens, I have ordered the 24mm f/1.8 Z Nikkor, which will also be on the camera a lot because it is faster. Depending on its price, I will consider the Z 20mm lens as well.

    I use it for architecture interiors and motorcycle photos.

    Amazing performance in a small package!

    Got this for a fall colors shoot and was able to create some interesting images, taking advantage of the wide views.

    The 14-30 mm Nikkor S lens is great! The added 6 mm over the standard 14-24 mm lens is a great plus

    Paired with the Z6, I am am amazed at the sharpness and edge to edge detail this lens produces. I could not be happier with the quality. Nikon really hit a home run with this one.

    The only way to capture 46 people in a small back yard, celebrating my neighbor´s 50th wedding anniversary, is to shoot from the 2nd floor balcony with a very wide lens. The new Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 S lens is a unique and excellent addition to the Nikon Z system. With its small size and weight, and ability to accept conventional filters, it´s a great asset to have when traveling the world.
