Worth Owning
Posted by Howard Winkler on August 25, 2023
It's lightweight and is a good lens to have on the camera when "Walking around". It creates very good "Sun bursts" (Those rays emanating from the sun when when the sun is peeking from behind a tree or rock). I do have a bit of trouble locking/unlocking the lens hood but that might be my fault. Overall I am glad I bought this lens.

Z-tastic !
Posted by Nate Nate on August 25, 2023
I'm so impressed with the wide angle abilities of this lens, sharp, clear, fast, quite. It has so many possibilities at f/4 without the need for a flash when combined with my Z6ii. Can't wait to get some fall waterfall photos but the photos I'm sharing were the very first outing with it.

My wedding go to lens in tight areas
Posted by Dan Burch on June 3, 2023
Shot a live job at a wedding this weekend with a Z6II. I’m 100% pleased with the performance. I used flas with 25%, but 75% without and I’m really pleased at the outcome. Very little post processing. I shot everything in manual mode. In very tight rooms, it is my now go to lens. Very little lens flare and very little distortion if you carefully frame your subjects.

I am blown away by the quality of this lens
Posted by Iceman183 on May 31, 2023
I am used to big, heavy glass, and love ultra wide angle landscapes. My other ultra wide zoom, the 12-24 f2.8 F mount is a solid beast. But, frankly, I think this lens out performs that gem of a lens. Lightweight, and compact, this lens is a joy to shoot with, and performs equally as well as the F mount lens. I thought the loss of one stop would bother me, but it doesn't at all, and the contrast and corner to corner sharpness, augmented by software correction, show that this lens is a keeper. My only problem is that I wanted the 14-24 f2.8 Z mount, but now I cannot really justify the cost and weight of that lens. I'm really happy with the images this lens produces, and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Great Landscape, Cityscape, Real Estate and Architectural workhorse! Great rendered images!
Posted by Michael on November 10, 2021
Great lens for real estate, architectural, landscape, cityscape, art, and other photography genres. I love this lens, and I use it exclusively for my real estate shoots, and architectural shoots. Coupled with my Z 6, it is fast enough to provide great coverage even in low light. Use a tripod, and amazing night cityscapes are possible. I haven't tried it for star photography yet, but that will be next. My clients have even noticed how much better my images are, rendered from this lens. If they're happy, then I'm happy! Highly recommend!

Great image quality, light wait, and works with screw on filter. It is a fantastic combo.

Excellent performance in a compact, well-built lens
Posted by WSJoe on March 24, 2020
I use this primarily for landscape. It outperforms my 14-24 f/2.8G, especially in corners. That is a bit of an unfair comparison since the 14-30 is not an f/2.8. Size matters though and the 14-30 is one I´ll carry on hikes without reservation.

An ultra-wide zoom, which accepts screw-in filters.
Posted by NikonHobbyist on March 3, 2020
Since I already have the 14-24/f2.8 f-mount lens, which I have used frequently on my Z6 (and D850), I was reluctant to purchase the 14-30 z-mount lens. However, I will be traveling internationally this summer, and plan to only bring my Z6 with two lenses, the 14-30/f4, and (hopefully!!!) the 24-200/f4-6.3 if it ships in time, otherwise I will bring my f-mount 24-120/f4 as my 2nd lens.
With that said, I was immediately tempted to purchase a ND6 filter for the 14-30/f4 lens, since I often shoot waterfalls and other scenery where I require long exposure times. Being able to use relatively inexpensive screw-in filters on an ulta-wide zoom has been a game changer for me! I had previously used my 20/f1.8 with a ND6 filter for waterfalls, so having the full 14-30mm range of focal lengths now is great! Since purchasing this lens, it has been on my Z6 nearly 100% of the time! The only downside is that I rarely use my 14-24/f2.8 f-mount lens anymore...
