Great Landscape, Cityscape, Real Estate and Architectural workhorse! Great rendered images!

Posted by Michael on November 10, 2021

Great lens for real estate, architectural, landscape, cityscape, art, and other photography genres. I love this lens, and I use it exclusively for my real estate shoots, and architectural shoots. Coupled with my Z 6, it is fast enough to provide great coverage even in low light. Use a tripod, and amazing night cityscapes are possible. I haven't tried it for star photography yet, but that will be next. My clients have even noticed how much better my images are, rendered from this lens. If they're happy, then I'm happy! Highly recommend!

Great image quality, light wait, and works with screw on filter. It is a fantastic combo.

Excellent performance in a compact, well-built lens

Posted by WSJoe on March 24, 2020

I use this primarily for landscape. It outperforms my 14-24 f/2.8G, especially in corners. That is a bit of an unfair comparison since the 14-30 is not an f/2.8. Size matters though and the 14-30 is one I´ll carry on hikes without reservation.

An ultra-wide zoom, which accepts screw-in filters.

Posted by NikonHobbyist on March 3, 2020

Since I already have the 14-24/f2.8 f-mount lens, which I have used frequently on my Z6 (and D850), I was reluctant to purchase the 14-30 z-mount lens. However, I will be traveling internationally this summer, and plan to only bring my Z6 with two lenses, the 14-30/f4, and (hopefully!!!) the 24-200/f4-6.3 if it ships in time, otherwise I will bring my f-mount 24-120/f4 as my 2nd lens.

With that said, I was immediately tempted to purchase a ND6 filter for the 14-30/f4 lens, since I often shoot waterfalls and other scenery where I require long exposure times. Being able to use relatively inexpensive screw-in filters on an ulta-wide zoom has been a game changer for me! I had previously used my 20/f1.8 with a ND6 filter for waterfalls, so having the full 14-30mm range of focal lengths now is great! Since purchasing this lens, it has been on my Z6 nearly 100% of the time! The only downside is that I rarely use my 14-24/f2.8 f-mount lens anymore...

    My Favorite Len!

Posted by Vinegrower on February 11, 2020

I´m new to photography I previously owned a D 750 and decided to trade it in for Z6.I have several Z lens now but this is far my favorite! I honestly can´t believe that I´m taking these photos. The sharpness and the ultra wide makes it so fun to use. I never want to take this lens off the camera. It´s a winning combination the Z6 and 14-30 mm. Great job Nikon!!

    Just love it

Posted by Ananth on January 5, 2020

I had ordered a Tamron wide angle lens when this got announced and I immediately cancelled that and got this since I wanted to try the native Z lens out. And though I had to pay the full amount for Z6 without any rebates and the same with the lens since I bought it early I have not regretted it one moment. The sharpness is amazing and coupled with the in body stabilization of Z6, I have taken shots at low shutter speeds without a tripod. Its also so light and easy to carry. Not to mention that its extremely easy to add a polarizer or a filter. Note: I did not attach any image since the max file size is 5 mb and most of my images are much bigger.

    Compact and sharp

Posted by Jeremy on January 3, 2020

Having had the Nikkor 14-24 f:2.8 before this lens, I am super happy to have such a sharp, compact, and versatile super wide zoom to replace it. The sacrifice of one stop in speed was worth the trade-off of having a smaller, lighter lens with the added convenience of the front filter thread. On the Z cameras this lens produces distortion free images even at 14mm that are sharp corner to corner. This is an excellent super wide zoom.

    Sharp Lens with Ultra-wide View

Posted by SKHDS on December 31, 2019

Light weight, sharp, and compact ultra-wide lens. Really good for landscape as well as dramatic foreground. 82-mm lens filter thread means you can use slim low-profile CP and ND filters. In addition the thread allows use of generic rectangular (100 x 150 mm) or square (100 mm) ND and GND filters for dramatic long exposure pictures. Color saturation, sharpness, low distortion and vignetting are some of the outstanding quality of this lens. I highly recommend the lens to photographers who need an ultra-wide field of view. Excellent price for so much lens!

    14-30mm S lens is fantastic??

Posted by Leicaman on December 29, 2019

This WA 14-30 is the very best WA zoom I have ever used. Much smaller and lighter than my Nikon 14-24G. Even better it takes screw-in filters.
