    Excellent Camera

    Posted by Nikon1 on March 20, 2019

Recently took camera on vacation. Took over 200 photos, all most 100 photos in low light conditions and never used a flash. All photos were taken with the 50mm Z lens. I recommend this camera to anyone looking for a great mirrorless camera.

Best Nikon camera I have ever owned.

Posted by Lawrose on March 20, 2019

The quality and almost 3D look to the photos make this the best Nikon camera I have ever owned, and I´ve been shooting Nikons since the 70s. I use my Z6 with the Z 35 1.8 S and the Z 24-70 4.0 S and the results are startling and attention-getting. I have also used the FTZ adaptor with a variety of F mount lenses, including DX lenses, and the results look better to my eye than they do on F mount cameras. Even the DX lenses produce remarkable results. The IBIS alone makes these Z cameras worth checking out. However, as is sometimes reported, the sensor seems to be a real dust magnet and there is no easy way to clean it. There are a few camera stores around here that will clean the sensor for a fee, but to have it dealt with under warranty would require shipping the camera to Nikon and lengthy turn-around time. Nikon cautions against any DIY cleaning procedures, saying we must only use the in-camera function which, in my experience, does very little. I am still looking for a way to deal with this situation, but otherwise, the camera rocks.

Great! camera, very under rated or poorly marketed

    Posted by jvejrp1 on March 20, 2019

I don´t know why other cameras get so much hype and praise but the Z6 should be getting more then those cameras. It´s image quality is above and beyond my expectations. I had a D5500 before upgrading and the difference is amazing. The white balance on my EVF seemed to blue but the camera gives me the ability to adjust it. Kind of wish I waited to get a free FTZ adapter(march-2019). The camera works great with F mount lenses too, native and third party. The one card slot does not bother me because it´s XQD and soon CFexpress, which have high reliability. The camera also has wifi transfer, so I can transfer images to my computer/tablet/phone as I take them, backing the images up instantly, if the card does fail. I am looking forward to the new firmware release to come and maybe even future firmware releases, for the potential functionality increase. Great camera highly recommend

    Great in low light photography

The only thing I would like on my Z6 is the vertical grip so my pinky doesn´t float under the camera, but I understand Nikon is working on a grip that will accommodate two batteries. Other than the vertical grip this camera is phenomenal with the attachment that accommodates my G lenses. I have shot a night seine with the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 G lens at ISO 16,000 and right out of the camera there was no noise.

    love everything about the Z6

Posted by Vegas on March 20, 2019

I love everything about the Z6 but it would be nice if there was a flash built into it as is on my other Nikon body. I am shooting both cameras so I have the flash available if I need it such as in a cave. The Z6 is great in every way. I have a speed light which I can use on the Z6 but with 2 cameras being lugged around, it is nice not to carry the speed light. It does not autofocus my non S lenses so I use my D300s with those lenses if I need to shoot quickly. I need to have the time to manually focus non S lenses with the Z6.

What a great entry into video for a lifelong Nikon shooter

Posted by Anonymous on March 20, 2019

After a ´´ton´´ of investigation into getting involved with decent video (yes, I looked at Canon, Sony, and Blackmagic products. I decided that since I owned many Nikon and 3-party F-Mount lens that the new Z6 made the most economic and logical sense. I have shot with several Sony dedicated video camera in the past - so I´m not a rank beginner. After using the Z6 for the past 3 months; I am blown away at the low-light capability and the color profiles that are built into this camera body. The body stabilization is terrific. While I have been shooting most of my still on my D800E - I´m quite impressed with the still capibility of the Z6. I shoot several events and the Z6 has become my main body (with the D800E as a great second. If you are serious about getting to the next step in video - you can´t make a mistake putting this camera in your kit.

    Fantastic

Posted by Ozarks on March 20, 2019

We really like our new Z6, great camera body. The 24-70mm lens is sharp as a nail! And the ability to continue to use my old lens by using the FTZ adapter adds to the flexibility. I can highly recommend this Nikon camera.
