Lovin' it!
Posted by Rick Carner on May 3, 2022
Exceeded my expectations. I was considering the 1.4 TC but decided on the 2.0 TC because it was available at the time. I do NOT regret it at all. Love the extended range on my Z 70-200 f/2.8. Before purchasing, was a bit concerned about adding weight and length to my 70-200, but I barely notice it. Since I am not a professional photographer, I personally do not notice a loss of sharpness with the 2.0 TC. Once in a while it does seem to take a bit longer to AF, but that could be me and not the lens/camera. For me, it was easy to justify purchasing the 2.0 TC instead of spending a lot more money on the 100-400. (Which I hear is a great lens.)

Works amazingly well. Much better than the 1.4. Very clear and crisp pics with my 70-200 z 2.8

Maybe I like Teleconverters Now?
Posted by Michael Redmond on January 12, 2022
I usually hate teleconverters as typically autofocus does not work as well with them and the photos tend to be very soft. So far with limited testing, it does not appear to be the case using the TC-2.0. I am using it with the Z 100-400 lens and have not ran into the issues I previously had with Nikon teleconverters. Right now my testing is limited, but would say this has great potential.

I bought this to complement my Nikon Z series 24-200/4-6.3.It does not fit this lens, contrary to Nikon's claims.

Do Not Purchase
Posted by Steve on August 24, 2021
Nikon marketing when I bought it..."With the Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x, you can achieve those tight compositions with the full resolution of your sensor by shooting in the native image area of your camera."Now added ;( ;)"without any loss of resolution and outstanding image quality."Still for us that demand top performance and truth in advertising...Stay away from this marketing hype!Nikon cannot support their claims as I've opened a ticket with no resolution let alone any meaningful communication.45+ years a Nikon loyalist.

This works great with my Z 70-200 f2.8S lens. This excellent teleconverter is highly recommended.

Excellent addition to the kit
Posted by Ralph Nigro on May 19, 2021
This is an excellent complement to the 70-200mm f 2.8 lens. It's an overall great performer, including excellent sharpness and contrast. I've used it to capture birds and wildlife with great detail, even when the photos are shot at high ISO and cropped. The nice thing about this TC is that it extends the range of an excellent lens without adding another large lens to your kit. That said, it's a compromise, like any TC. You lose two full stops, and it can only be used on the 70-200mm f 2.8 lens. It's also pricey, but a lot less expensive than a dedicated zoom lens of equivalent focal length. Unless you need a kit with very long lenses - for example if you are a dedicated wildlife photographer - this TC does the job exceptionally well.

Perfect. I don’t have to crop and waste pixels.
