1st shots by a beginner
Posted by Adamus on October 23, 2018
I started photography 3 weeks ago to capture the birds in my backyard. I use a D5600 200-500 and my 1.4x tele arrived today. The pictures are the 1st shots. I´m in heaven.

Better than expected vs 2x
Posted by Morphius on April 16, 2018
I´ve heard and read that the TC-14E III provides excellent image quality over the higher magnification teleconverters. I´ve already tried the TC-20E III teleconverter and didn´t have good results with my 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II. So it was the 1.4 or nothing at all.
To my surprise, there is minimal degradation with my 70-200mm lens. The images with the TC-14E III attached are very sharp at the equivalent 98mm - 280mm compared to the images with the lens alone. For travel, I´ll definitely carry my 70-200 and TC14E III for that extra reach when I need it without the weight penalty of another lens. This is a top combination for a lot of people.
Wait for it...
Now the real surprise is pairing the TC-14E III with my new 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR. This lens, by far is the best bang for the buck Nikon offers in a super telephoto zoom. Since the lens and converter are compatible, heck why not, I tried the combo together. Amazing! I can´t believe the 700mm reach with very good handheld image quality. The constant f/5.6 and 4.5 stops of VR on this lens is what makes this under $2000 combo a winner. -

Very good quality. Work very well with the new 300 f4 VR as other lens.

Excellent match for my 300mm F2.8G VRII

TC-14E III stays glued to my Nikkor 300mm f/2.8G VRII. I get 40% extra reach with excellent IQ. I shoot mostly handheld with VR II on and IQ the result is near perfection.
