A Great Addition to my Camera Bag
Posted by Anonymous on October 30, 2023
Just got this teleconverter to use on the Nikkor Z 180-600mm zoom telephoto which I recently purchased. The results so far are nothing short of great. I was skeptical at first due to a bad experience I had with the “F” mount version mounted on my 200-500mm zoom telephoto. I had that one for only a short time due to the consistent softness of the focus especially at the 500mm level. This teleconverter has no problems throughout the entire range. It does have some occasional auto focus issues in some low light situations, but these can easily be corrected by switching to manual focus. The clincher was a test photo I took of a squirrel on the fence in my back yard mounting the teleconverter and 180-600 on my Z 7II. To get me even closer, I set the pixel setting to the full 45 megapixel setting and set the image six to the DX setting, giving me an equivalent of a 1260mm focal length. I handheld the camera-lens for these photos with the ISO set to 1600. The quality of the resulting photo (which I uploaded) convinced me that I no have a great combination for wildlife and sports photography without breaking the bank.I've also used this lens-teleconverter combination on my Z 6II with equally satisfying results.Hope to have more about my experience so far, but for now the TC-1.4x is a great addition to my camera bag.

Excellent addition to Z telephoto lenses
Posted by Anonymous on October 28, 2023
First teleconverter I've ever used. Does not disappoint. Sharp crisp images seem to be as good as the lens its boosting. With the Z 100-400mm S lens I've shot macro as well as full telephoto with equal results.

Amazing
Posted by Anonymous on October 16, 2023
I've had the F mount teleconverters, both the 1.4 and 2.0. The 1.4 was OK, but the 2.0 never worked for me. Since transitioning to the Z system and purchasing the 400mm f4.5 I figured I'd try the 1.4. Amazing is all I can say. Tack sharp. This combination is small, light weight and provides me with a 400mm and 560mm. Will definitely purchase the 2.0 for the 800mm reach.

It works fantastic with my 100-400m lens. No issues and focuses fast just like the teleconverter was not on!! Very pleased with the pictures I took!

Excellent Teleconverter

I own the f version of this teleconverter as well and there is little comparison. I shot birds all day with the TC 1.4z on my 100-400mm z and really could not tell I had a teleconverter on other than the magnification. A great product.

Z TC 1.4x Teleconverter
Posted by Charles McFarren, Jr. on August 8, 2023
I've used the Z TC 1.4x teleconverter on the Z 70-200 2.8S and the Z 800 6.3S and, other than the mandatory one stop of light loss, I've not found any loss of performance. It is definitely a cut above the F-mount TC. It goes with me when I carry either of the above mentioned lens.

Using Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x and getting some great shots
Posted by William Mendes on August 7, 2023
I love the images I am getting with the Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x. I am using it with Z6ii and NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens mostly for birding. It is giving me that extra reach I was hoping for.

Great teleconverter! Works perfectly with the Z9 and my new Nikkor Z 800mm PF. Auto-focus works as fast as the lens alone. image quality is fantastic. .

1.4 TC, Z 100 - 400, and Z8
Posted by Thomas Hurley on August 5, 2023
I used a 1.4 TC with my D500 and 80-400mm Nikon lens. This seems similar. It worked well in the back yard with a Great Blue Heron which was 150 - 200 feet away in full sun with my Z 100-400 and Z8. With the temperatures in the 90s, I waiting to take it to the Everglades to see how I do with less light on my new Z8. I used handheld sitting in a chair with support arm's elbow on the arm of the chair. In the swamp, I will have to use my class 3 tripod with Wimberly Gimbal head and Nikon's wireless remote which I also used with the D500.
