It is better than the Z9

Posted by Chengdong Sun on January 19, 2024

The Zf is the camera I have been waiting for. It is the Z9 for an amateur, but cost much less.

    Beautiful moss green

Posted by Brittany Spitzer on January 19, 2024

I love this camera. It so beautifully crafted and amazing to use. The setup is defiantly Better than my zfc. I love the feel and look. The menus are nice and I’m easily able to control what I need to in my own custom controls. I added my a small rig grip and my own strap to make it more mine. Pairing it with a 50mm z lens prime it makes for A amazing combo and a fantastic first full frame camer a for me!

    Finally a digital F3

Posted by Wayne Tibble on January 19, 2024

As a longtime Nikonian I absolutely love this. I still have my FE and F3 and it fits right in next to them. I have run through a dozen Nikon DSLR bodies. Everything from d200,300,500,600,700,750,850 and d3,d4,d5. Istill have AiS 58 NOCT,; 135 1.8 , 300 2.8 , AND 600 5.6. Also have had z5, z6. presently have a Z7 and 28-75,70-180 , 180-600 and 135 plena and 35 1.8 and 85 1.4. I use z7 for lowlight and astro and landscape because of larger sensor. But for anything moving and day light from dawn to dusk its ZF in my hands. It feels so solid and when I go from F3 to Zf its just so NICE TO HAVE DIALS . Plus love the B/W switch

    Nostalgic Upgrade

Posted by Derek Kearney on January 19, 2024

We all read the reviews and saw the video posts on the camera and my simple start is that it is all true and the Zf is more than worth the purchase. I have made progressive upgrades since I got my first D80 in 2005 to the D300>D700>D750 to finally going mirrorless with the Z6 II. Each upgrade was noticeably significant, but adding the Zf to the team brought a different FEELING along with the updated image quality. The nostalgic nod to the film past to go with a premium mirrorless tool enhanced the whole experience more than previous upgrades. As a wedding photographer the quality of the shots are wonderful, however I have had to adjust to the pivoting viewfinder but I have gotten along with it better as of late. My new favorite camera, it is now my preferred go-to camera for all of my shoots

One of the best Nikon cameras I’ve ever owned

Posted by John Andrus on January 19, 2024

It’s a great camera, easy to use knobs for quick setup. It lightweight compared to some of my older Nikon cameras. You can shoot in almost any conditions, it’s weather sealed. It’s an excellent choice for shooting in low light conditions..

    Nikon Nailed It!

Posted by Troy Washington on January 19, 2024

I purchased the Zf to compliment my Z8, but what I quickly found out is that I love shooting with both of them equally! The low light capabilities of the Zf are excellent, and the retro style and functionality make it a true joy to shoot with!

Nikon Got it Right with the Zf

Posted by Rene Holliday on January 19, 2024

The Nikon Zf is just outstanding! I love the retro look and feel! The 24-megapixel images are perfect for my everyday photo needs. The image stabilization is exceptional. I did buy the SmallRig L-Shape Grip, which is a must. If you want a fun, mirrorless camera with top-notch tracking, fun to use, and light yet Nikon durable, this is your next camera.

The Absolutely Perfect "Take Everywhere" Camera

Posted by SD Herzog on January 6, 2024

Ever since mirrorless full frame cameras were introduced, I had been waiting (and waiting and waiting) for one of the manufacturers to come out with a retro-styled body, as it was readily apparent that they could be just as slim as an old 35mm camera! I pre-ordered my Z f in Cabernet Red and have been using it for a few months now. It's absolutely gorgeous, it calls my name every time I look at it, it's fantastic to pick up and just use. Having upgraded from a Z5 for my mirrorless kit, the autofocus is absolutely like night and day. Putting the Expeed 7 processor in the Z f was brilliant, and makes it actually usable. Another highlight is the 8 stops of IBIS they put it in it - being able to comfortably shooting handheld at 1/30 with no image shake is a revelation in low-light scenarios for saving you from high ISOs. Overall Image quality is nice, especially for a mirrorless camera, but still is very bad out of camera compared to my D4S, due to the inherent loss of DR you get from having the AF modules directly on the sensor. Not to worry though, it's crazy to compare anything to the D4S ;)The gripes I have with this camera are simply the same gripes I have with most mirrorless cameras, which is that the EVF is a net loss for pros over an OVF, namely because of loss of sight due to incorrect exposure in manual, eye strain caused by having your eye that close to a screen, and inherently lower resolution than simply looking through a lens. Similarly, mirrorless cameras rely much more on menus and fiddling than DSLRs do, and I find that I'm spending way more time tapping and scrolling the rear LCD to change settings than I needed to with my DSLRs. That said, none of these drawbacks are Zf-specific, so I can't really take away stars there. But ANYWAY...The Z f looks great, is ultra-versatile (except if you try to put a 70-200 or larger lens on it), and is best used as your secondary camera for professional work, or as your everyday/walkaround camera, as is my case. It's such a joy to use, and it practically never leaves my side now.**Get the SmallRig or Nikon grip**
