Love this camera, from the retro looks to the files it produces. Bought for a walking around, carry with me all the time camera and coupled with the 26mm pancake lens, it is superb.

I love the retro look if my new Zf. It reminds me of my first Nikon, A Nikkormat I bought in 1968 and the many other Nikons I have had before going digital. It's solid and heavier than I expected with some getting used to the manual dial and narrow right hand grip. I bought a Newer grip which helps. I like flip out screen which my Z8 and Z7 don't have and the functionality is excellent as expected. Yes, I would always choose my Z8 in a comparison but I'm glad I have it and am charmed by the retro look.

This Zf is an awesome retro camera a reminder of the good old past. Not sure what the " f " stands for.When power is off & camera is shaken a bit you'll hear a rattle noise inside the body, some say this is due to the anti-vibration mechanism. The noise disappears when power is on. Other models don't do this. When you choose 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 grid lines on the menu they don't show up on the viewfinder or monitor screen. Some of the nice Z lenses have plastic mounts while others have metal mounts. What ever happened to "Made in Japan" , what you're seeing now is "Made in Thailand or China" on the labels. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to reasons above .

I have been a Nikon shooter since my photojournalism classes at NIUi on film and an FM. My first pro camera was a N90s. I then jumped in early with the Kodak N90 digital. Too soon as the internet couldn’t handle the large files. I still have my D’s and still love my 850. The zf was purchased as a street camera for exploring Chicago. I love the look of the camera I love the click when you press the shutter button, but what is really amazing is how good the exposures are with this camera. I also bought an SB 5000 flash in the pair are truly amazing. I’ve always been blown away by Nikons ability to get the exposure right with flash. I have been using the system like I said for 40 years one truly great thing that separates Nikon apart from others is the fact that I can still use my old F Mount lenses on the newest camera even if I need an adapter now with mirrorless that I will never shoot with anything other than Nikon. Most fun I’ve had in decades shooting again.

I have found the Zf to be a great camera and fun to use! I love having the dials again it is a kick to use them, but have the other options too. The only thing that is a pain is the micro memory card I'm always afraid that I will drop it or it will get lost it is so tiny.

I really like my D850, and now I'm also really liking the ZF, especially because of its retro style.

For me, as a full time professional photographer for 42 years, the ZF was the camera I didn’t know I was waiting for. An absolute joy to use and image quality from this sensor is fantastic. The few issues I had were quickly solved with a firmware update. Couldn’t be happier with a camera.

So much fun to use, and even as much as people love it, it's probably still underrated. Love the colors and versatility. With the 40mm SE lens it can be a daily carry that's easy to bring anywhere, but can absolutely handle some bigger glass where you'll really get the best out of the sensor. I love it with the 50 1/.8 S. Also very capable with video.
