    Nikon Z9

Posted by Ken Rivers on March 30, 2023

The Z9 is quite an impressivce piece of equipment. Its fast, built like a tank, has high resolution and comfortable to use all day. I primarly do sports photography and love the 45MP for large prints and if needed the room to crop and still have plenty of resolution to spare. The files have the typical vibrant colors that we have come to love as Nikon shooters. There are some aspects I would like to see changed but none of them are deal breakers. I would like Nikon to add a option to delete the last burst set. When you have a camera capable of shooting 120 FPS it would make deleting missed burst segments so much easier. The high ISO performance is pretty good which is to be expected. I would like to see it even better. My D4S is better but with a third of the resolution though so as most things are in photography everything is a trade off. I would like to see 30FPS in raw. Its works very well using the FTZ adapter but I will be excited when more Z lenses are introduced. The AF system is impressive but at times I feel it could be a bit more sticky on subjects. Outside of these very minor complaints it is a beast of a camera. If you are a nikon shooter who has not switched brands yet this body is for you.

Great all the way around. Only shot a few times but amazing so far. The 3d tracking is great with one exception, it locked on a ground hogs ear not the eye

    Incredible for Tracking Fast Action

I've been a D850 user for years and was hesitant to switch to mirrorless, but having put the Z9 through its paces that is quickly becoming an unfounded concern. Besides its impressive performance, the camera ergonomics are great and battery life is fantastic to boot.

The Best Camera I Have Owned!

Posted by Lee Jackson on March 28, 2023

The best all around camera I have ever owned. There is a bit of a learning curve for some of the advanced features and settings but you will be richly rewarded if you take the time to learn the ins and outs of all this camera can do.

It certainly lives up to all the hype. Coming from the D500, the D850 and the Z6ii, I see it as a progression of my photography. Some of the features I like are the battery life and the ability to use my F Mount lenses. But it has its problems too: its heavy, the card door is difficult, I wish it had the U-1......settings instead of the Banks,, etc. It is going to take me a while to make it work for me.

    Most Versatile Camera

Posted by GARY SMITH on March 27, 2023

Solid pro camera. It's perhaps the most versatile camera in the market today because it performs as well in the studio as it does on a sports field.
