Z 8

This is a superb camera in every way. And I must compliment Nikon on having it available in such a short time after it was announced. Nikon has come through in every way—a grand slam home run!

After three weeks it is clear that this is a great camera body. It is a worthy successor to the still great D850. I tried to replace my D850 with a Z7II and that was an experiment gone bad....I continued to use my D850. This Z8 is a breath of fresh air. The focus is quick and very accurate. I love this camera and it performs flawlessly with my non-Z lenses.

Absolutely one of the best Nikon's ever made. The image quality is stellar, and the autofocus is amazing.

I absolutely love the Z8!! I got it in time to take to graduations and the related events and it was excellent; light and responsive with excellent 45mp photos. I was even able to hand it off to one of the college grads who took a bunch of fun photos and it was on Manual with Auto ISO turned on. She was even able to deal with back button focusing! Very responsive and well priced! I think it was a real bargain. I was able to take some action shots with the grads throwing their caps into the air with 10fps. Can't wait to do more shooting...for my small hands, it works better for me than the Z9 (which I am keeping)! Thanks Nikon!

Having owned the Z9 and now the Z8 I must say the benefits of the Z8 outweigh the downsides between the two. Forget the pro semi-pro banter, capability wise the cameras are the same. But without the built in battery pack the Z8 is way more easy for extended hand held shooting especially for wildlife or anything that needs a heavy lens. A spare EL15c battery is easy to put in your pocket, or you can add a battery pack. The Z9 was for me a beautiful camera but just too much to lug around. The Z8 is just beautiful - the best I have ever owned.

I got the camera a day after its release date, had to wait on the next day shipping. I had three small portraits two days after that as well as a wedding a week later. Unless you own the Z9 already and prefer its size and few different capabilities, this is the Nikon camera body you have been waiting for. It’s amazing and I have only shot stills so far but I’m thinking I may have to start learning some video. The files look great, and let’s just say the autofocus is well beyond the previous Z versions. But the customization you can also do is terrific and I happen to like the size and the layout as well so far. I’m a portrait and wedding photographer and loving this camera as is already. I do leave my Ed card (slot 2) set to jpg fine backup to keep all the Ana things this camera can do as far as speed goes vs backing up raw images (not wanting to sacrifice slowing down the camera when shooting fast if needed). But I’m ok with that as it’s backup duplicates anyways, ps the jpg files even look good. I can’t wait to play around with more options but for now and what I typically do, it’s amazing! I'm coming from a Z6 and do nature/landscape photography. I recently purchased the 2x teleconverter to go with the 400mm and was about to return it due to slow focus. But I waited until the Z8 came! UNBELIEVABLE! Super fast focus, excellent vibration reduction, and hand held shooting birds in flight at 800mm is tact sharp with amazing follow focus. So many other great features that I plan to do my own YouTube video review fir friends n family. This Z8 is such a joy to use that I'm excited to get out and shoot everyday!!

+I am very, very pleased with my new Z8. Having started with Nikon with my D1X and working my way through cameras like the D-70, D-70s, D-200s, D-7000, D-700, this is the most amazing camera I've used. Battery life is exemplary, and video and still quality is fantastic. I couldn't justify the price or size of the Z9, not being a professional photographer, but the Z8 lives up to all my hopes. I like being able to use all my F-Mount lenses, but a few ZS-mount lenses are on my wish list. I received my Z8 the Friday after it was released to the public, quickly shipped from B & H Phot5o Video.

I have been using my Z9 for over a year now, but took a chance on the weight of the Z8 sold me. I love this camera. Right now, I can’t see a better set of camera bodies. Been a Nikon shooter since 2005.
