    Perfect camera for me!

Posted by MIKE DUGAS on February 27, 2024

I spend most of my time photographing wildlife that said, The new features with the firmware upgrade 2.0 has helped me capture more keepers. The bird dedicated auto focus and the auto capture is amazing! I have big hands and find it fits perfectly in my hands, the controls and buttons are perfectly placed. Also love the 24-120/4S this lens is perfect for landscape photography and the images are very sharp. I would recommend to anyone for any photography genres.

The Nikon Z8 is truly an amazing camera

Posted by Robert Young on February 25, 2024

I can't imagine why any serious photographer would have any major complaints or concerns about the Z8 camera with FW 2.0 or later. Looking through some of the older reviews I see that almost all of the complaints have been addressed in FW 2.0, and the rest seem to be people that feel it is too complicated, haven't taken the time to learn the camera yet, or just don't like the feel of it. To me, it's the most amazing camera that I have ever owned, and I have had many. I switched from Canon to Nikon a few years back, and it took me a while to get used to the change. For a while I was even tempted to go back. But with the Z8 I am so glad I stuck with Nikon. The Z9 was just too big for me, and with only a couple of features that were not available in the Z8, it was a pretty easy choice for me. But like with any piece of equipment built for professionals, take the time to know the camera, and it will deliver all of the quality and performance that you could want.

Really nice camera. I purchased as an upgrade to D3200 and have a lot to learn. The camera is so customizable Very happy with the purchase as I was considering less expensive models.

I'm a believer in mirrorless, thanks to the Nikon Z8

Posted by ANNE PROFFIT on February 23, 2024

After using a D750 and two D500s the past few years, I was a bit intimidated by the Z8 when I first got it. It sat in a corner for about a month and then work demanded I use it. While I still have a lot to learn, I'm falling in love and truly happy with my results, primarily shooting in Manual.

I've been involved in photography for 65 years, and during that time have owned just about every camera—MF and FF—that had been and is currently available. I enjoy using the Z8 more than any of the others, but I use it primarily for video. And in that regard, I wish, as severl other users have suggested, that the Z8 would offer the option to “exclusively save video to the CF Express card, while RAW and jpg are saved to the SD card. and not the CFExpress.” Having to delete the jpg or raw files from the CFExpress card in order to process the video files is a nuisance.
