Z 8

I liked my Z8 so much that I purchased a second one. I do freelance work and shoot with two cameras. Until recently it was a Z8 and Z7ii. But the seamless controls and settings, shooting on silent mode with electronic shutter (no rolling shutter artifacts), and AF options made it more efficient to shoot with two Z8s. I also do wildlife photography in Africa and pairing the Z8 with the 600mm 6.3 lens is unmatched.

I originally purchased the Nikon Z8 primarily for astrophotography, but I was pleasantly surprised by just how much fun I would have using it for other pursuits!The more time I spend with this camera, the more I find myself wanting to explore different types of photography. What started as a purchase focused on capturing the night sky has turned into a renewed excitement for photography in general. I've been venturing into landscapes, wildlife, and just about anything else that catches my eye.The Z8 is an incredibly capable camera, with some amazing lenses, and there's something really enjoyable about picking it up and seeing what I can capture. Between things like the image quality, autofocus, and many other features that have been packed into it. It makes me feel like there's always something new to discover or experiment with.I'm still learning everything this camera has to offer, but that's honestly part of what has made owning it so enjoyable. It's not just a camera I bought for a specific purpose anymore. It's become a camera that encourages me to get out, try new things, and push myself in this hobby.I’m very happy with my purchase. If I had one criticism, it would be the battery life. It’s a thirsty camera. But that is a small thing and easy to deal with. Just throw a few extra batteries in the bag, and problem solved. Honestly, the Nikon Z8 has not only met my expectations but has also reminded me just how much fun photography can be!

I upgraded from a D800 to the Z8. I was concerned...with the price and all. But after 10 days, I'm thrilled that I took the leap. This has deepened my passion for photography and making the effort to carry a larger camera and tripod on hikes in the national park where I play.

It all started in 2004. My Canon equipment was stolen. At the time Nikon was offering a package deal of a camera, the D70 with two lenes. I switched brands. Little did I know this was the start of a beautiful relationship. From the D70 to the D850, and the six other cameras in between, I've relied on this brand for weddings, wildlife, and everyday shooting, Nikon has never let me down. Now I own the best camera ever, the Z8. It's like the best part of all of my Nikons cameras rolled into one. I can't say enough good things about the Z8. I am now 80 years old, been an avid photographer since 1964 and can only say, “rent a Nikon Z8 and see what real photography is all about. Chances are you'll buy one for your own.”

I've only had the Z8 for about 10 days. I upgraded from a Nikon D810. The features and improvements are incredible. It also helped rekindle my passion for photography. I've been having a lot of fun exploring its capabilities, and there are many. I also purchased the FTZ II adaptor to use with my current F lenses. A Nikkor Z 24-120mm f4 lens came with the deal and I found it to be a great complimentary lens. I will be upgrading to more Z lenses based on my experience. I like the electronic shutter for its speed...and it is fast. Focus shift is great for macro photography. The surprise for me is the pixel shift option. Pixel shifting will render up to a 180 megapixel photo. I found the display tilt mechanism to be awkward and felt a bit flimsy. For me, the tilt is handy for lowering the camera and tilting the display upwards to capture the shot. It works great for that angle. Finally, I like the electric viewfinder. It is easy to see if the photo will wash out or be too dark.

Absolutely incredible camera. Since receiving it, I have tried a lot of different styles. I love how the screen turns red for astrophotography, and has a feature to make the stars easier to find, and the illuminated buttons. And the fact that you can preset different styles of shooting, and save them to a memory card. It's like having 4 different cameras in one, but if you swap out the memory card with one that has 4 other presets, it becomes 8 different cameras. Change from your favorite settings for landscape, to wildlife, to fast moving action, to portraits, just a couple of taps, and ready for a different style. Almost as fast as changing lenses. And it's built very well. Just wish the batteries had a longer life, but that's an easy issue. Extremely happy with this purchase.

I love everything about this camera, not only does it perform perfectly on manual with histogram as a guide but all the special features like Photo stacking is outstanding

Great backup to my z9 love both cameras very much still have loads to learn about them but the adventure is fantastic with such a versatile camera
