    An Easy 5-Star

Posted by Craig Cirelli on May 12, 2021

I've been shooting with Nikon gear for decades, and this Z6II is the best body I've ever owned. It's the ideal all-arounder and extremely versatile. I'm so happy I moved to the mirrorless Z system. The images that come out of Nikon bodies are second to none - amazing dynamic range, beautiful rich colors, and these Z lenses continue to exceed my expectations. Firmware updates have added new features and existing features keep improving. Amazing setup and I couldn't be happier.

And Insane Camera for insane Photographers and Videographers

Posted by VICTOR HEBERT on May 12, 2021

This image was taken at 9:30 pm (CST) in the dark of night. ISO 64000 (Nikon ISO H 0.3), F4, WB Auto, 24mm, Exposure 1/6, 24-70mm F4 lens and yes, the Nikon Z6 II. It was literally midnight dark in this scene. I did not have High ISO noise reduction on. The detail, and usability of this image is insane for the time of night this was taken. Even my shadow was recorded correctly from a street light behind me. This is an incredible, mind boggling image from just the camera without flash. I am sure it can do the same indoors. Forget the matter of "sharpness, noise, and etc" for this point (dark thirty shooting) and consider only the positive reality in this photo, that it really is a photo that is usable under any circumstance. This is an incredible, impressive reality for Nikon. I'm blown away with delight with this camera.

A Whole Lot of Camera For The Money

Posted by George Heard on May 12, 2021

As a photography enthusiast, I have used another manufacturer's equipment for many years. However, as of late I question the quality of their equipment and pricing strategy. After much research I decided to give the Nikon brand a try beginning with the Z6 II and will say that I'm pleasantly surprised. First is value, I think you you get a whole lot of camera for the money. The body is built like a tank and the ergonomics are great. The menus are well organized and the ability to customize the camera for your shooting style definitely improves workflow. I had a concern about color science, but no more. Files straight out of the camera are wonderful. Coming from a different manufacturer I do have somewhat of a learning curve ahead, especially the autofocus system. I've enjoyed my experience with the Z6 II so far, I think Nikon has a winner!

This mirrorless platform could possibly save Nikon!

Posted by Jim Heckel on May 12, 2021

Being a life-long Nikon shooter starting with my Nikon FM film camera, this new mirrorless unit is amazing! Graduating from the D5K series (5300,5500,5600), I love my Zii. I do wildlife photography and use the FTZ adapter with my Nikon 200-500 f5.6. This camera is super powerful and versatile, easy to use and requires some time behind the viewfinder. The more you shoot, the more you learn about what this thing can do and I keep being pleasantly surprised.

A great camera but download the full manual or watch some YouTube videos first!

Posted by Joe Ladrigan on May 12, 2021

As a long-time Nikon DSLR user, I’m having a little trouble with the focus point selection options as compared to my D-500 but the dynamic range & image quality is excellent. I’m an older user so it may take a little longer for me to get used to the new features.

    Z Best

Posted by William Boling on May 12, 2021

Been shooting Nikon since 1970 and have seen it develop, this is the best yet. Auto focus and tracking are so good I'm tempted to just use the "Auto" setting and just have fun. Bought 2 S f2.8 lenses and am totally hooked. PLEASE come out with a Z mount Macro lens soon!

    Learning the Z6ii

Posted by Jim Stone on May 12, 2021

A very fine mirrorless camera. Has enormous functionality for most any shot you want. I particularly like the support Nikon gives its customers. I have gained knowledge on functions from calling support line but equally from the many on line videos covering specific topics. Also find Nikon Studio to be very useful.

Z6ii is great for what I do

Posted by Darren Freeman on May 12, 2021

This is my first experience with Mirrorless as I started with D70 and have had several nikon brand cameras crop and full. Currently have the Z6ii and D850 inn the bag. I really do like the mirrorless model with the exception of getting used to the delay in the view finder when taking shots (which I can control by turning it off). I like the auto tracking /eye detect functionality but I must admit based on youtube videos you would think you are missing something from based on canon and sony. However for the way I shoot Nikon hits the mark well and an very comfortable with the tracking features especially after the latest firmware. This is a good camera. I guess my next decision is do I take the plunge fully into the mirroless space and sell my d850 and get a Z7ii. I haven't spent much time with Z glass yet.. but plan to rent soon and experiment. That probably will be the determinate if I go fully Z or not in the short term
