Amazing Lens!!
Posted by Daniel Maes on June 25, 2023
Just got this lens and it is already my favorite! Great image quality. I was able to capture pretty clear photos of the moon. I am a hobbyist photographer that shoots for fun. I am excited to keep using this lens every day!

Ready for Action!
Posted by Amrozowicz on September 30, 2022
Wow! I just recently shifted to mirrorless and absolutely love this lens. I primarily use for sports action, but can see many uses in my future. It is a little heavier than I am used to, but that is also the reason it feels very durable. It's a great match for the Z6ii.

Optically it's 5 Star, Ergonomics not so much
Posted by JIM TINCHER on August 10, 2022
I've always loved the focal length of 70-200, it just gives such great latitude. I recently sold my F-Mount 70-200 and purchased the native Z lens. Hands down this lens is optically superior to the older F-Mount lens I had, it focuses faster and is extremely quiet and I like the images I get with it, but…There's just one flaw with this lens and it's a major one, the location of the zoom ring. Whoever decided to move the zoom ring “away” from the camera body clearly doesn't use this lens for long periods of time or didn’t consider the ergonomics of it. For me this is a huge deal. I shoot Pageants and Seniors and with the zoom ring on the far end of the camera it causes three problems;1. Accidentally hitting or grabbing the focus ring.2. Makes holding the camera and lens awkward and less steady.3. Over a period of time it is very fatiguing.Pageants last for several hours and two weeks ago I shot my first pageant with the Z-Mount and not the F-Mount 70-200, it became exhausting. Back in June I took several of my Senior Models to Hilton Head to shoot their Senior Photos and I found myself simply opting for a different lens quite often because of the zoom ring location and the fatigue it caused. As much as I like this lens it is going to be replaced with a lens that has the zoom ring close to the body and not at the end of the lens. This is a very bad design decision that wasn't thought out completely.

Z 70-200 2.8 Hits the high notes for me!
Posted by J Williams on August 3, 2022
Long time Nikon hobbyist. Wanted something longer, trying to choose between this or the Z 100-400. To my delight, Nikon put this on sale - so done deal. I love this lens: it's quiet, fast, really sharp. I've shot into the sun with no flare. And I noticed quickly it does not lengthen or change weight distribution when zoomed. I like this enough that I wouldn't mind waiting to closely examine the Z 200-400 when it arrives.

My favorite Z lens!
Posted by Freddie Masarovic on May 11, 2022
I am a semi professional portrait and family picture photographer. I have been shooting Nikon for over 20 years and have the following gear Z7 since it came out. 14-30 f4, 24-70 2.8,70-200 F2.8, 35 F1.8, TC 2.0. I own this lens for a year now and can say it is my favorite lens. It is the right tool to create magic! The sharpness, the color the bokeh the result is just like nothing I have ever seen! I have used this lens for portrait, indoor and outdoor events mainly sports and wildlife with the 2.0 TC. It performs exceptionally! If you just look at the rating. At the time I am writing this review it has 100% of 5 stars (72 reviews) and I can't help just to reconfirm that for anybody on the fence.I could talk more about the design, focusing etc but honestly this one has it all and some :)

Flagship Lens - Best Z-S Lens from Nikon!
Posted by Michael on November 10, 2021
Hands down, my favorite lens!!! It is just show sharp, fast to focus, and easy to use. Sure, it weighs 4 lbs., but it's manageable. I do believe that this lens is the Flagship Z-S Lens that Nikon/Nikkor make! The color renderings are exquisite, and the sharpness is second to none! Lots of awards make this a GREAT lens for both pro and non-pro. Sure it costs a bit, but much better than the F-mount of the same specs. I use mine with my Z 6, and it's a blast!!! Highly recommend!!!

Awesome lens.
Posted by Will Stattman on July 15, 2021
This is the best 70-200 out there. It’s an improvement over the F mount version as well as the Sony and Canon equivalents. Insane sharpness and out of focus areas are beautiful. All my other lenses have been feeling neglected since I got it.

Great for almost anything
Posted by BENJAMIN RICHARD on July 5, 2021
I updated from the superb and reliable F mount version to this one to shoot weddings, portraits, and marathons with my Z cams. It's a versatile workhouse that focuses fast, renders beautiful images, and feels well balanced with the Z6II and vertical grip. The only negative is that my copy arrived with the four tiny screws loose that secure the collar's tripod mount. If I hadn't noticed it out of the box, it would've eventually fallen from my camera strap or monopod. I secured the screws with a precision screwdriver, and all's well. Otherwise, the lens is an amazing tool that I look forward to using for work or chronicling all the sports and school activities my kids find themselves in. It's probably the best zoom lens I've ever used - just flawless f/2.8 glass!
