    Just got the lens through the lens upgrade sale. I am still learning how to effectively use it for the really small stuff. Now if I can just get the bugs to cooperate for me.

    I find myself grabbing this lens almost as much as, if not more than my wildlife lens when I’m out hiking! The 105mm MC has quickly become one of my favorite lenses. It is tack sharp and creates beautiful images of the hidden small world. The AF focus limiter switch has been incredibly useful too! I can’t say enough good things about this lens.

    Love the Lens, Nikon Focus Stacking Software Not So Muct!

    I’ve wanted this lens since for years and finally decided to get it. It has not disappointed me. I will say that the Nikon software that controls the focus stacking is woefully archaic! So much more could be accomplished with lens profile DoF look up tables and precise start and stop depth. I should be able to set the start, stop and f/stop and let the camera calculate how many frames are needed to achieve a perfect focus stack. I hope someone technical reads this and thinks about it.

    One of my favorite lenses

    My first 1:1 lens, and also my first prime longer than a 50mm, this lens has been fantastic. It’s incredibly sharp, and also ergonomic and easy to use. The screen is a little overkill, but it’s a lens I have zero regrets buying.

    Nikon 105 MC Lens for Z8

    Just got this lens for my Z8 camera and I was very surprised how good the lens is. It's well built and will serve me well as a macro and portrait lens. I am still learning all the features the lens has. Overall, I am very happy with the selection made. However, the lens is a little heavy.

    I've upgraded to a Nikon Z 7II and this NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S lens (used to use a D80 with the Nikon AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR lens). While the older gear was great, this new lens is so sharp it made my jaw drop. That might also be because of the better sensor but I'm certain this glass is better too and I love this lens. The 105mm gives me a little more working room and the f4 perfect for what I do. Could not be happier and highly recommend this lens!
