Super All Purpose Lens
Posted by Tim Cassidy on August 15, 2023
Super all purpose lens. The images are sharp and well rendered. The range of focal length is more useful than the 24-70 f4 I got a while back with my z6ii and the images are at least as good. You won't be disappointed with this lens.

If You Can Only Afford One Lens...
Posted by Michael Palumbo on August 3, 2023
I love the 24-120 range but the image quality is the real reason for this lens. The first time I used it I was totally impressed by the tonal latitude and rich colors. The photos looked as if I used strobe to softly light the subjects but it was all natural light. It would be nice if it could keep that same size and weight and be 2.8 but I may be asking for too much - not to mention the price!

Get this lens!
Posted by Rick Taylor on July 23, 2023
Love this lens! Very useful range, and stays mounted on one of my cameras at all times. It goes from a moderate wide angle to a short telephoto, and clicks all the boxes for me. It is also a sleeper portrait lens. I own the F-mount equivalent from when I used my D750, and continue to swear by it now that I've gone mirrorless. I also had the crop sensor equivalent (16-80mm) for my D500. Bottom line, if I could only have a single lens this would be it.

Z8 and 24-120 S Mount Lens - What a combo!
Posted by STEVE ST LAWRENCE on July 8, 2023
I had the 24-120 F Mount lens paired with my D750 for 8 years or so. It was on my 60 percent of the time when not out trying for closeups of wildlife or sports. The focal range from wide angle to mid zoom made it incredibly useful. This new Z mount version is even more impressive. I have found it to be incredibly sharp and fast in my first week of shooting with it with the Z8. It's an amazing tandem!

Best General Purpose Lens
Posted by Curtis White on July 8, 2023
I had the original F mount version of this lens with my D750 years ago. Some of the best pictures I've ever taken were with that combo. I loved the lens so now upgraded to the Z7 II I decided to get this lens again and give it a go. It has not disappointed. It focuses fast and the pictures are tack sharp. The Z lens seems to do even better than the original, which was quite impressive. This is the perfect walkaround lens as it's pretty small and light and gives a really nice zoom range. I highly recommend this lens.

Great Travel Lens
Posted by Patrick Ames on July 5, 2023
This is a great all around travel lens - it's versatile and very sharp. I usually travel with the Z14-24mm f2.8S and this 24-120mm f4S. I use the 14-24 indoors and the 24-120 outdoors but I found on my last trip abroad that I was able to use this lens indoors effectively despite the 1 stop light loss (shooting raw). I will probably leave the 14-24 at home for the next trip because this lens does it all.
