Functions seamlessly with latest version Nikon 105mm G f2.8 Macro
Posted by MelD on March 11, 2019
The FTZ adapter combined with the Z7 body and the Nikon 105mm f2.8G Macro will function flawlessly in macro focus shift shooting. I have had no problems with this combination. Since I haven´t seen a new Z-mount macro lens in the near future for this Z7 camera, I am glad that the FTZ adapter is able to interface with the G lenses to provide the camera functions that I need. The extra weight of this lens is really not significant to delay using the Z7 for macro work. The FTZ adapter was bundled with the Z7 and 24-70 f/4 Z-mount lens and the whole system functions beautifully together.

FTZ has issues
Posted by Frank2020 on March 11, 2019
While the FTZ adapter does a great job adapting new a new F mount lens it is quite lacking with older glass. I can understand not supporting old screw drive autofocus but why can´t it talk to manual lenses. My D800 can talk to old manual focus lenses for F stop info and for focus confirmation.
Also the tripod mount should have a rotating mount not a fixed one. It also has issues with a quick release plates hitting both the body and lens. -

Nikon Z7 And FTZ Adapter
Posted by JimO on March 11, 2019
I´ve had an absolute blast with my Z7 and FTZ adapter! I learned from an online form about the bargain of an old Nikkor 135mm f/2.8 Ai that could be purchased for around $150. I purchased one off EBay for around the same amount and although it´s strictly a manual focus lens, it´s sharp with great bokeh! I also really like the ´´S´´ series lenses that have come out. I love the edge to edge wickedly sharp 50mm S F/1.8. I was inspired to own one from a photo that Nikon Ambassador Joe McNally took in New Orleans model in the street. I look forward to what evolves in S series lenses. So far, very happy.

Works Perfect
Posted by sandman on March 11, 2019
I got one of the first Z7 cameras with the FTZ mount. I have mostly DSLR FX lenses which require the FTZ mount. Have been using the mount for about 6 months and FTZ mount works as if it is not there. No problems whatsoever.

Use F mount lenses with ease
Posted by fotabug on March 11, 2019
I got the FTZ adapter with my Z6 and am so pleased I did. It makes so many lenses compatible with my new camera, and I don´t feel any lack in equipment since I have several top notch F lenses. The Z6 has even made me change my mind about selling an old 500mm Nikkor f/8 Reflex Ai-S lens I never used before. This short, lightweight lens works beautifully with the Z camera. And focusing is not a problem, even for my old eyes, because of the wonderful ´focus peaking´ feature for manual focusing lenses. I highly recommend the FTZ adapter.

It´s simple and it simply works
Posted by GBPhoto on March 11, 2019
The FTZ allows my compatible DSLR lens to work seamlessly with my Z7. That´s all it does and it does it just like it´s supposed to. Note only certain lens are fully compatible with the Z7, Nikon provided this list when the camera was released. Those reporting the lens doesn´t work or focus have nothing to do with the FTZ, it isn´t on the Z7 compatible list and like is several generations old. I wouldn´t ever use the tripod on the bottom of the FTZ, I use either my RSS camera bracket or the tripod mount on longer lens.

great and essential addition
Posted by JayF on March 11, 2019
I have two Z7 bodies, the 24-70 f/4.0 Z lens, and a bunch of F mountain lenses. One body has the 4-70 on it while the other has the FTZ adaptor. It works seamlessly with my other F type zooms and primes. And adds little extra weight.

Adapter is Seamless... Works GREAT!
Posted by SantaFeRanger on March 11, 2019
I´ve used the FTZ adapter on my Z7 with several of my Nikkor lenses including the 300 mm f/4 PF ED. From birds in flight to event work. I´m VERY pleased with the adapter as all my Nikon F mount lenses are working just as well on the Z7 with the FTZ adapter as they do on my D850 and D5. In my case (with a heavy investment in F mount lenses), the FTZ adapter has turned out to be one of the best ´´features´´ of the new Z system.
