Perfection above the D800 and beyond

Posted by TedVB on January 20, 2020

I bought this to replace my D800, which was a perfectly fine and excellent camera. WOW. The differences are huge, beyond the megapixel differences but with the display, speed, ISO, etc. I am impressed, and I get the same extraordinary results and clarity with my existing lenses. Love it, I´m glad I made the upgrade.

    The best...

Posted by NikonJeb on December 26, 2019

I´ve been shooting Nikons forever it seems. I love them, always have. This is simply the best Nikon yet. I figure Niokon has spent a lot of money and time getting the processor(s) right, so I´ve been shooting on full auto. I like it a lot.

    D850 is a fantastic camera!

Posted by LatinShutterbug on December 25, 2019

I have owned many cameras of different brands, including the Nikon D3, which was a groundbreaking digital SLR, but the D850 Is by far the best I have ever owned. It does everything exceptionally well.
I considered waiting for the Z7 replacement since mirrorless is all the rage, but I don´t believe the image quality will be better than what you can get with the D850...at least our eyes won´t be capable of noticing the difference without wasting time searching for marginal improvement at a higher cost.

    Nikon D850

    Posted by NikonF16 on December 17, 2019

I have owned this camera for about one month! Been a Nikon shooter for almost 40 years! Sold my D800 and purchased the D850! So far I have used/tested it on wildlife (Whitetail deer) and also some prairie winter landscapes! On the deer it was necessary to have a higher ISO for the low light that was present for the morning! At ISO 4500 the detail on the deer was fantastic! Never had a camera that would be as good as this at this ISO rating! My landscapes has only been some winter prairie images at ISO 100! Fantastic resolution with great detail in the prairie grasses.

    Best dslr on the planet!

Posted by Goodlife on December 8, 2019

I´ve been away from photography for a while. The last camera I owned was the Nikon F3 with battery pack and some serious lenses! Now that I´m retired and island hopping, I wanted the best of the best to chronicle my adventures. Well, this is it! It takes some getting used to but the results are amazing! I just added the Nikkor 300mm 2.8 af-s d2, Sigma 50mm 2.8 art, Samyang 135mm 1.2 and the Tamron 24-70mm! Life is good!

    This thing is amazing..

I´m not a professional, but I am trying to become one. This thing really encourages me to want to learn more. I´ve read a couple of books and some articles on line, as well as a video. I´ve quickly learned to ´´get by´´ on manual mode, which is good because this doesn´t have auto mode. :-) I´ve taken several pictures that have really amazed me at how accurate they are. I got a couple of high end lenses for this which make it complete. No sense getting ´´ok´´ lenses for a superior camera.
