I have been a Nikon user for more than 50 years, going back to Nikon SP ( which I still have). Each new model has been received with excitement. I still have a D810 which I still use a lot. With the high resolution of the D850, I use it only on a tripod or monopod. There is so much data in each frame that need to keep the camera as still as possible.
My only complaint is why did Nikon swap the ISO and Mode button positions with D810? I use both cameras all the time and I have to stop and think when a change is necessary.
Overall, I am very happy with D850.

I am very pleased with the Nikon D850. It is the first camera that I have purchased in more than 10 years. My previous camera was a Nikon D90. New things to learn, but I see that as part of the adventure and my continued evolution in photography. I have always loved Nikon cameras. Keep up the excellent work!!

this camera is the best camera in the world.... I upgraded from my d5100, which I still have to this d850 super camera love all the features and my photos are coming out so sharp even hand held..... originally I was going to buy the d810 but my husband suggested the d850 instead.... I´m so glad I listened to him... the only thing is that I can not get SnapBridge to install.... thank you Nikon for your great produced...

I am continuing my journey in the Nikon line beginning with the D90, then the D610. I was intrigued with the D850 and decided to pull the trigger with the recent rebate. I have not been disappointed. We travelled to Greece shortly after my purchase and it produced wonderful pictures in a wide range of lighting situations. Downloading pictures with the cable is fast and allowed me to have back up on all my photos, though it fortunately was not needed. Since I do not use the camera for video I chose to hold off on purchasing an XQD card. The SD card did not slow my photos a bit. The SnapBridge App is now working with my iPhone and may have some value with remote photos where there is WIFI available. The D850 has a new port for the shutter release cable and I purchased an inexpensive new one which functions well for my needs. Focusing is extremely accurate and the Sub-selector button allows for precise focus on the subject. The camera is solidly built and fits my hand well. There are many features available in the camera which will allow me to be a life-long learner in photographic creativity.

It´s very simple - the D850 represents the absolute culmination of 100 years of outstanding Nikon R/D and field experience. As many are saying - it really is the best DSLR of all time. I have been a Nikonian since the early 1970´s and have had, literally, all the Nikons in my shooting armamentarium at one time or another - Photomic FTN up to the D5 (and everything in between) and I agree that the D850 is the BEST. Back to the studio.

I have been very pleased with the D850. In the past three weeks I have shot two car shows with amazing results. It is easy to use and the clarity is fantastic. I would recommend the D850 to anyone serious about photography.

I came from a crop body D7200 (that I´ll also never part with) and this has far exceeded my expectations. The layout of the camera, the incredible resolution, and most importantly, the autofocus. The latter being unsurprising when you realize the D850 has the same autofocus system and dedicated processor as the D5.
