Exceptional camera.
Posted by Curlgary on January 14, 2020
I was a little frightened by the price to start with but bit the bullet. Glad I did. I had heavy zoom cameras before but mostly digital zoom, not optical. If you have used both you know that Optical is much clearer and better than digital. This one´s 125x optical is amazing. So much steadier and easy to use than my former heavy digital, a Canon SX50. No comparison between the two, but to be fair the Nikon is 3x the price of the Canon. One of my favorite things is using the Snapbridge software to have pictures go straight from the camera to your phone as you take them. Often on trips I want to text pictures and from a camera cannot. This gets around that. Truly an amazing camera. The only downfall is that it is quite large and heavy. But to get the huge lens and all in a package probably required this.

Upgrade of Camera
Posted by Moosemanofmilford18 on December 10, 2019
I upgraded from the Coolpix 900 to the Coolpix 1000. Recent pictures taken on a cruise were excellent. The sunset and moon shots were excellent. I photographed wildlife and the 3000 zoom brought the monkeys up close. It was worth the upgrade!

The P1000 surpasses expectations
Posted by Naturepro on December 5, 2019
Being a wildlife and landscape photographer shooting with a Nikon D4s with lenses between 14mm and 600mm, I never seem to have the right lens mounted to my camera while traveling in the car or for a shot around the house. I purchased the P1000 to fill the gap and be ready at all times in the car without constantly having to change lenses. It has surpassed all my expectations. My photos are incredibly sharp from macro through telephoto. I normally shoot from a tripod, but the P1000 with its built in camera vibration reduction makes shooting hand held very easy with incredible results even at super telephoto. This camera can do everything my DSLR cameras can as far as shooting modes, exposure compensation, flash, histograms, etc. I love the fact I can adjust my exposure compensation and histogram right through the viewfinder as well as on the back screen in live view. The tilt out screen makes live view easy to help compose your shot when the camera is at an odd angle especially low to the ground and shooting up. I highly recommend this camera for anyone that wants a quality camera that is ready to go at a moments notice to cover anything from wide angle trough super telephoto all in one camera.

How to go from iPhone Photography to the P1000
Posted by iPhonePhotographer on October 3, 2019
I can easily use the auto settings on the P1000. But the camera is capable of so much more and I just cannot learn it on my own. The User´s Manual is useless to me. It is the perfect camera for an iPhone Photographer who is going on vacation and needs it to shoot details or animals too far away for the iPhone, like whales or elephants. It can do a lot more, just making a point. And those things can be photographed in auto. But when I tried to learn how to shoot the Milky Way I felt like I should give up on manual photography. I need a series of YouTube Videos to teach me all the subtleties of the camera compared to an iPhone, not compared to a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. I teach iPhone Photography on cruise ships when we travel and there are a lot more of us who would buy a P1000 if you could teach us how to go from iPhone Photography to P1000 Photography, and the P900 youTubes are not helpful on the P1000 either. I realize this is a narrow market, but it is deep. A P1000 costs less than an iPhone x or 11 Max. So the price is not an issue. It is reaching the millions of seniors with money they are willing to spend if you can make the camera a user friendly experience instead of a stressful one. By the way, these cruises are 4-5 months long and go around the world.

Potential packed p1000
Posted by Jaswinder on September 28, 2019
A potential packed camera for extremely wide range of photographers. It is bulky but stable for hand held photography. At the same time, it is much lighter and faster for taking pictures for those who keep a set of lens and devote time in selecting and replacing. The image quality and formats seems alright subject to further usage.

Love the The Super zoom and bird Mode
Posted by Swiyper on September 19, 2019
I got this for a recent trip to SF, surprisingly used it more than my iPhone, it´s HEAVY but packed with lots of Goodie mode, easier to operate than my d7000, the zoom is beyond amazing, the pic tone and compensation for a newbie is Great, the down side is the bluetooth connection is complicated and slow. When you reset to factory settings.. It mess up the whole initial setup. But.above all it´s a great camera.

Buying the Coolpix P1000
Posted by NickNikon on September 11, 2019
As a real estate appraiser, I have been using 35MM cameras for the past 40 years. I initially used Olympus equipment but switched to Nikon digital cameras about 15 years ago. I have been using a Nikon D70 and a D60 but recently purchased the P1000. I read many reviews and did quite a bit a research before purchasing it. I am totally amazed by what this camera can do. The size of the camera is the only drawback. It´s a small price to pay for what this camera can do. I love it.

Ecology Camera
Posted by FlyingSquirrel on August 3, 2019
The Coolpix P1000 is great for documenting ecological field work due to its size and versatility. I do not have to carry a large number of lenses to document plants, animals, and their habitats. Pictures have good resolution.

Coolpix P1000
Posted by Miriam on July 28, 2019
Bought this camera about 1 month ago learning to use it love love it. I also have a d3500 dslr I love Nikon products. This p1000 is clear sharp and captures wildlife for me and flowers which is what I love to shoot. It is amazing so far and will be even more amazing as I learn it better. It is a computer in a camera a good buy and I love snap bridge and the wi fi Bluetooth capability.
