Absolutely Incredible Coolpix P1000 Camera
I’m in love with the COOLPIX P1000 Camera! I’ve been using it for a little over 3 mos now and I can honestly say, by far this is the best camera I’ve owned thus far. I purchased a digital book from Amazon: Photographer’s Guide to Nikon Coolpix P1000: Getting the Most from Nikon’s Superzoom Digital Camera; Alexander White. It’s extremely helpful while learning about all the different settings and features the camera offers. That being said if you’re only looking to grab a camera up and point and shoot pictures immediately, the camera has simple point and shoot pre-programmed buttons for that as well. Some of my favorites are the Bird, Moon and Scene ones. Also worth mentioning is, I also love being able to download photos immediately to my phone via the SnapBridge app but the app still needs a little tweaking. It stopped reconnecting my phone after an update so I had to delete it and re-add it but that did resolve the problem. You’ll want at least two batteries (I have 3) as it eats the battery life up rather quickly but for the quality it’s well worth it. Overall, in my opinion, this is a dream camera for the amateur photographer like myself! I’ve uploaded some of my favorite pics I’ve taken so far.

Not a great camera
Lots of zoom! But the focusing is difficult. AF just won’t get clear. MF will “adjust” as you push the shutter. It has many issues connecting to Snap Bridge. It’s very heavy to pack around as well. If your looking for crisp clear pictures, this is not the camer for you.

Outstanding camera with remarkable features.
I originally obtained the P1000 to check out the amazing optical zoom range, but have fallen in love with what I can do at ´´close´´ range with this camera!
Whilst, yes, the zoom has allowed me to take some remarkable wildlife and bird shots that I would not have been able to obtain before; the macro abilities using that zoom are wonderful! I have taken close ups of bumble bees from 20 feet away that have received outstanding reviews.
I would highly recommend this camera to both those just wanting the long lens, and to those who want more! -

What a wonderful camera. It is a beast. Basically an Ultra HD telescope. The viewfinder is extremely clear resolution.
