Handy little Camera
Posted by Larry Swanciger on June 20, 2023
I was disappointed to see that the Camera was no longer made. It has been a handy camera for underwater work as well as a good Camera to hang on a belt when I don't need high resolution pictures.I have used it several times Snorkeling and Snuba Diving. I still own several Nikonos Cameras but film isn't as available anymore.

USE IT EVERYDAY FOR WORK.
Posted by John Nicholls on February 8, 2023
I have had two Nikon Coolpix cameras over a period of 10 years as my SLRs were costing me a fortune to replace due to the harsh conditions of my location (Live volcano ash/tropical rains etc). Have been delighted with both which I use for marketing images example: Have to buy another one as water got into my present from snorkelling with it (I don't know if I was at fault or not, so cannot complain. That's life). It is such an easy camera to use, lightweight but very tough. The only issue I have found is lens fogging when in water. Hope Nikon could come up with a solution for this as it is frustrating.Off to order my next Nikkon Coolpix.

IT HAS ITS PLACE
Posted by Wright on November 10, 2022
It does NOT take good photos low light situations ... you're better off with your smartphone for that. However, it has its place - kayaking, skiing: It can take a dunking or beating smartphones cannot. Another negative: it's difficult to snap a photo because of the hard rim around the shutter button. If you hand this camera to a stranger to take a selfie for you, they usually fail to actually depress the shutter button. Work around is to turn on the flash, that way you can tell whether they've taken a photo or not.

Happy owner
Posted by Eric B on March 22, 2022
Great quality camera, only thing keeping me from giving 5 star is lack of RAW, and no dedicated button to turn display off to save battery while camera still being stand-by, which would be great for street photography.

Will stop working
Posted by Alex Lanna on January 16, 2022
Camera stopped working in a year or two after only a few uses. One day it just did not turn on, even it new charged batteries. Very disappointed! Was a great camera while it worked though. I am hoping I can send it to Nikon to be fixed.

W300
Posted by Anne on October 6, 2021
I’ve used this camera along with my Sola 1200 dive light on over 40 dives & absolutely love it. The pics are right up there with all the big guns on my first live-aboard dive trip since COVID & I am so glad not to be carrying all the extra weight in my luggage. Only problem I had was with condensation in the lens & screen but considering that the temps were in the 30s above & below the water? I will definitely take a bag with desiccant next time for the between dive times.

Outstanding Versatile Camera
Posted by Larry Larry on June 19, 2021
I have owned each version of Nikon’s “W” compact cameras and have loved each on! My W300 is several years old and was used last week for underwater snorkeling in Cancun Mexico.Any camera used in wet conditions needs to be properly maintained.

Good for diving
Posted by Pavel Dostál on December 28, 2020
I did more then 50 dives around 30 meters depth. Without any problem. Pictures are better then gopro. When I dive deeper I use gopro. Maybe someone can make a underwater case till 60 meter depth for this camera?

Excellent Waterproof Camers
Posted by BillCool on February 23, 2020
I purchased the Coolpix to be able to take it places that I would not take my DSLR. Primarily, I wanted to take it snorkeling. It lived up to its potential. I got some great turtle and fish shots.
