A must-have complement for your DX Nikon setup.

I´ve been very satisfied with the quality of photos I´m getting with the 10-24mm. Yes, there is distortion at the wide end, some of which can be rectified in pp, but it also can add a nice effect without the extreme results of a fisheye lens. Closeups are surprisingly good quality, with a very smooth bokeh if desired. The minimum aperture of f/29 provides great dof for creative landscapes. The AF is smooth, fast, and quiet. Your popup flash is practically unuseable with this lens, due to shadowing by the lens itself, but the SB900 works fine in the hotshoe, and of course off-camera. It is a crisp, clean, sharp lens that I´ll use frequently for adding flair to otherwise normal shots.

If you want to go WIDE, this is it.

I thought this lens would be of limited use, but I´ve been wanting a lens with this coverage for years, and its turning out to be quite useful, fun lens. My 10-24 was front focusing on my Nikon D7000, but this problem was easily corrected using the camera´s menu system. For best results, I recommend stopping this lens down to at least f/8.

Great in the day...but at night its another story.

Posted by ferrarimike on November 21, 2010

I have been using this lens for several months, and it is a great lens for the price, and produces just some awesome colour reproduction during the day within minimal edge distortion. For those who experiment a lot with night time long exposure photography, there are some focusing issues at night. I have tried all sorts of settings and exposures and as soon as the sun goes down you need to change to another lens.

I´ve been nothing but happy with this lens. 10mm gives you a lot of room to capture sweeping landscapes and some really neat closeups. I hike a lot and this and my 18-200 let me get some great shots.

    Good, solid all around lens.

I am loving it so far. Only had it a short time, but already took it on a trip with me and was able to use it for lots of wide angle and decent zoom shots as well. The nice part of the ED is that I can crop and bring a photo in closer in my post work and it doesn´t fall apart as fast as some of my older lenses´ pics will. They stay sharper and crisper for more ´´in close´´ detail enlargements, etc.
Overall, it is a great ´´all-around´´ lens and I hope to learn more and more ways to use it and I cannot imagine that it won´t be an ´´always with me´´ piece of equipment!

Small lens with a BIG PUNCH!

WOW! OH WOW!!! This lens just compliments my D5000. It takes great photos and breathtaking colors. I was amazed at the quality but should we expect any less - it´s NIKON baby!

This lens has eveything I was looking for.

I have been a Nikon product user for many years. Recently I purchased 10-24 mm Nikkor lens. I have taken about a dozen or so test photos and was deeply impressed by the results.

    Excellent wide angle DX Lens

    Posted by Rabid_Clam on August 31, 2010

This excellent could be listed as a semi fisheye but isn´t. Is an excellent slow lens with super wide angle capabilities for both distance landscape as well as fairly close up work all with minimal distortion. In these kinds of lenses you will of course see some curvature in the targer objects but are minimal considering the wide angle being used. As with most lenses that have a lens shade the hood or shade will have to be removed for the built in flash or even the external flash to cover the target image well but this is a small chore. I find this lens great for shots in a room where all subjects are captured, the zoom can be used to better frame any particular subject.

Is not a fast lens but quite reasonable for the price. Lens is quiet and does not creep. For me is an absolute to have this lens in my basic kit well worth the pricy investement.

    Highly recommended

I have always enjoyed using wide angle lenses, and this one does not disappoint. Extremely sharp, lightweight, and crisp zooming. Fun to use, and a great creative tool. I recently used it in the tight confines of the air museum in Kalamzaoo, Michigan, and it performed brilliantly. This lens goes with me everywhere, and gets more use than any of my other Nikkors.
