Good lens but better buy the one with VR
Posted by BlackKite on February 21, 2017
I got this lens as part of the two lens kit with Nikon D5300 (AF-P 18-55mm VR and AF-P 70-300mm NON VR). Considering very good discount I practically got this lens for free.
Overall I am very impressed by it performance.
Pros:
The lens is sharp, lightweight. Auto focus is very quick. So shooting in bright, sunny day with fast shutter speed provides awesome results. Well, in such conditions lack of VR doesn´t make much difference.
Cons:
Without the tripod practically useless in low light.
So my advice. If you are not getting it for free then go for VR version. the price difference is not so much, but it will help a lot in low light. Otherwise very good lens -

Awesome Lens
Posted by FlashPhotography on February 13, 2017
I got this lens in a kit, and I am LOVING it. It lets me get photos of all the wildlife that shows up in my backyard. The zooming is very smooth, and the auto focus is quick, as promised. The manual focus ring is large, and comfortable to use, photos are sharp, couldn´t ask for much more. The only problem I have with this lens, is that if you don´t have a tripod - or a REALLY steady grip - you´re photos will turn out blurry if you are zoomed in all the way. Overall, an amazing product.

Distante and safe

I´ve been using this lens for about a month and a half now. I´ve been in a few zoos/rescue shelters taking pictures of wildlife, standing and while on a vehicle in motion. I couldn´t be happier. The images are great, clear and sharp.

I took a few good pictures of wildlife in my first weekend of using it! Not a lot of experience yet but I´m excited about its potential
