Impressed!
Posted by Larry D. on September 14, 2025
I traded my 24-70mm f/2.8 S for this lens primarily for the added reach with my Z8. Had used the lens outdoors for some landscape photos and was very pleased. I used it recently at an indoor volleyball game and it worked great! I shot f/4 at 1/1600 and ISO 5000 and 15fps. The AF worked great and even had a little bokeh on some shots :^) The attached photos processed in LRC with denoise and very little touch-up. Overall, this lens worked better than I could imagine and even more pleased with its versatility.

Decent Lens

Decent Lens is relatively Sharp, and has pretty good AF. Build Quality is Good. Too bad it doesn't make it to 150mm. It is usually attached to the Body when in the Bag.

Impressive. The lens provides quality, convenience, value for dollar.
Posted by JCL on August 22, 2025
Removing the lens from the box, I was immediately impressed with the quality of the build. Then when I used it to take photographs, I was impressed with the photos. I have a photo shoot coming up that I need a short focal length and a portrait length focal length so the 24 - 120 mm versatility is perfect for my needs. I like the idea of using only one lens. In my mind, this purchase is money well spent. I get quality, convenience and I meet my photographic needs.

No longer a Sony believer
Posted by dennyblairphotography on July 16, 2025
Took this lens and my Z8 on a 10 day tour through the Canadian Rockies and was amazed at the versatility and ease of the combo. Pictures were super sharp, weight was not an issue and whether. used for portrait or landscapes it never disappointed. Last year this same trip was made with a 24-70 f2.8 and I found this combination more versatile an easy to hold at 1/30 at f4.

Great versatile lens for a wide range of shots!
Posted by Ldarro on May 5, 2025
After almost two years of use, I can say only that — this is an AMAZING, universal, qualitative, and very very sharp lens. Quick and sticky autofocus. Great image quality. A wide range of focus lengths, and each one gives outstanding sharpness. This is the S-series of Nikkor Z mount lenses, which means there's an incredible level.I examined the resulting RAW files with the auto-correcting lens profile switched off, and some minor aberrations are visible only at the corners of the frame near the frame borders. So the correction is minimal. This lens is incredible, I would recommend it as the most universal and versatile lens for the broadest range of shooting events.

Perfect Travel Lens
Posted by edmund knaysi on November 28, 2024
Just purchased this for an upcoming two week tourist trip. The weight of my mirrorless 70-200mm (otherwise perfect) makes it a physical burden on long days when constantly on the move. I've taken just a few shots with the 24-120, including in relatively low light, and it performs extremely well. Its range and weight make it the ideal travel choice. Packing with only one lens simplifies my pre-departure packing, and will be liberating on the road because lens changes and the weight of camera equipment become tiresome.

The best in that range ever

Absolutely amazing 24-120 and the best I have used. Way better than the Sony 24-105 f4 G.

A Great Professional Quality all-purpose lens!
Posted by DAVE BAYRO on May 10, 2024
I have always kept the f/2.8 line of zooms (14-24, 24-70, 70-200). I just got my z8 and knew I'd have to move into the mirrorless lenses as I still retained the dslr AF-S collection. Initially, I went to the 24-70 2.8 but that focal length range was a bit short to really be a good all-purpose walk-around zoom. I was concerned this lens would compromise sharpness or introduce more distortions (barrel, pincushioning). I am so pleased with this. The S-Series have great optics and I haven't lost much giving up the extra bit of aperture. I'm planning the 100-400mm and a 85 f/1.2 next. No regrets on this purchase!
