A camera that gets better every time it’s used.

Posted by Robert Tranchina on March 11, 2024

Fantastic machine! Had it since it was released and after learning the focus modes it has been nothing short of amazing. The image quality is excellent. Low light performance is better than expected for a 47 M sensor. I continue to learn its features. It is a photographers camera as you need to understand it to get the most out. I cannot believe the dynamic range. If it. When you learn how it works worlds open up. Absolutely love it.

    Fits My Needs Perfectly

Posted by Ted Byrom on March 2, 2024

This is my second full frame digital camera. I bought it in February, 2024 (refurbished by Nikon), and it was a choice between this and the new Z8. I do not shoot sports, wildlife, or videos so I could see no compelling justification for buying a Z8. This Z7ii does everything I need it to do and I am quite pleased with it. Even if the cost were the same, I think this is the better choice for me.I've been shooting film since 1948 (and still do), and my love/hate relationship with digital cameras is the morass of features and menus, most of which I will never use, and therefore the time and effort required to set it up as I want is a frustration. The only missing feature I wish the Z7ii had would be the ability to download all my settings to an SD card that I can store outside my camera so that if I ever buy another Z7ii as a spare or replacement or have it reset during a repair, I will not have to go thru another set up. (My Zf has this feature and I truly think it is worthwhile.)

    Z 7II - A wonderful camera

Posted by Paul Farr on February 12, 2024

Z7II is a great camera with the FTZII adapter. I can still use all my F-series Nikon lenses. Although my camera is so automatic, I choose to shoot in manual mode. I love this camera.

    Superb

Straight to the chase…This is an amazing camera. I worked for years the the iconic D850. Everything you read about both is true….but this is finally a wonderful technical upgrade. Ergonomically I still like the feel of the 850, but I don’t need to spend $4000 to get the Z-8 for that though I would like to have some of the Z-8s autofocus improvements. The Z-7ii is fantastic!

I love my new Z7II - it is fast lightweight and has mega megapixels - easy to learn to use Cant wait to take with me on Safari in Tanzania Still learning all of the functions - I have a Z5 and this is just a step up from that one with more advanced features higher pixel count and ability to film in slow motion

    Super light yet Powerful Camera

Posted by Satya Yerrapragada on December 1, 2023

It’s a super camera , I love Nikon - the only camera company - or the company makes only cameras. When I wanted to upgrade to D850 , from D810 - have waited for some time to decide - and finally bought the z7 II.I have attended 2 events after that , and have received lots of appreciation, and recently added 24-120 f/4 and the combination was a super hit .The camera was so light , still managing the f lenses I have to use with the Ftz adapter .I found a solution for battery power - attach a powepack., while it charges the battery too . The issue is that the internal battery getting charged only when the camera is off , it’s fine though . May be there should be a firmware upgrade ! Thank you Nikon .

    A work-a-holic body and lighter than D850.

Posted by Karen H on November 29, 2023

Upgraded from my D850 with pleasure. Lighter and equally good in 99% of the categories I need it to be. Dynamic range is super vs Z7 and am very pleased. One thing I'd ask for is a ME 'final' img. in RAW format rather than JPG. D850 gave me RAW MEs. Hard to get over that, but I will persevere. Great camera, Nikon - thank you very much.

Wonderful camera, but it does take a lot of battery power.

Posted by Douglas Geiger on November 28, 2023

My Z7II is really great and with the FTZII adapter, I can use all my old F-series Nikon lenses. Be warned, however, the Z7II uses up a lot of battery power (you cannot just look through the viewfinder and see any image without the camera being on), so use a Nikon MB-N10 battery pack and get several extra batteries (use the EN-EL15c). Also, the average JPG size I can get is around 13-14MBytes, so I really don't know how Nikon can claim its a 46-48Mb camera. Still, its way improved from my old D200.
