Z 5

I'm coming from a D7100 where I had more ergonomics and more physical access to camera settings. But the customization possibilities of the Z5 are very good and the improvement in image quality is enormous. It is a very well balanced camera at a very affordable price that allows entry to Nikon mirrorless and when you learn to work with it (very quickly) it becomes a very powerful and fun tool.

The Z5 is a wonderful entry point into the full frame Z series cameras by Nikon. I use a D850 for most of my photography (landscapes), but the Z5 is my go to when I prefer something more lightweight. The Z5 has everything I need feature-wise and nothing I don't. I absolutely LOVE the mode dial on the grip side (unlike the other Z cameras). This makes it very quick and intuitive to operate and I don't miss the top LCD screen at all. The simple ergonomics are brilliant!This is a very capable camera and I'm continually impressed the more I use it. It really shines with static or slower moving subjects, which are the majority of my images. However, I've made some of my best photos of hummingbirds in flight with my Z5. This really isn't what this camera was designed for, yet performed astonishingly well! In summary: This is a great choice for someone wanting to move into the full frame mirrorless world or for a more advanced photographer wanting a lightweight, no frills, yet very capable camera.

The first camera I bought. I just obsessed with it. The price of it is so nice to me. I bought with a 24-200 lens.

Extremely awesome camera. Easy to use. Every single photo is high end. Love the ISO when shooting professional football...hands down. Best camera I've ever owned. Nikon you hit a home run...

I'm giving this five stars for overall value and functionality (since I can't do half-star ratings so I'll give NIkon the benefit of the doubt here). This is perhaps the best value in entry-level Full frame cameras there is, with dual card slots, in body stabilization and a very good sensor. Obviously the two biggest drawbacks here are the focus tracking and video (4k) with the heavy crop, but if you're mainly a stills photographer and looking for a budget full frame camera, or a second/backup camera, this is it. If you happen to catch them on sale it's an even better value, but even at the regular price, it's still a lot of camera for the money, and the image quality rivals that of some of it's peers and even previous notable Nikon cameras like the D810 and D750/D780 despite perhaps having older sensor technology (don't let that steer you away from this great camera, the camera performs very well and on par with the Z6 series minus the auto focusing and the video capabilities, but from an imaging/stills standpoint, it's a very good cheaper alternative if you don't want to spend $2k on the Z6).. I mean this camera includes many features you would previously only find in higher-end cameras (like the in-body stabilization and dual card slots).

I love it. The size, the weight, the image quality, the price.One key factor for me was the FTZ mount adapter, having 4 DSLR lenses and being able to use them was a no brainer to switch to the Z5.

I have been having a very photographic experience with my Z5. It meets and even exceeds my photographic expectations.

This is the Camera I've needed to get the right Shots. As a Lapidary I married this Camera with the and with this combination105mm Macro Lenz to get up close and Personal. It is a must have in my business of Custom Jewelry. I used to take pictures with my Samsung 7 but it couldn't cut it. Pictures of Gems are like documentation showing the fine quality of Faceting workmanship.

I'm a hobbyist photographer, mostly focused on travel and landscapes. After 5 years with a D3400, I wanted to move to full frame and mirrorless. I couldn't be happier with the decision. The Z5 has produced some spectacular photos and has allowed me to dive deeper into my hobby, turning it into a passion. I considered a Z6ii, but the main advantages (video and burst FPS) weren't of interest to me, so I couldn't pass up the value of the Z5. Even though the Z lenses are expensive and will probably cause my kit to grow slower than I'd like, they are insanely impressive lenses that certainly make the most of the Z5's capabilities.
