    I love it!

Posted by LORETTA SEYMOUR on April 7, 2026

This is my opinion as an intermediate photographer:I just got my z50ll and I love it!It is more user friendly than the z30 I had and by that I mean, it has a viewfinder, on camera flash and the ability to use an off camera flash. It stacks, yes, stacks, and has so many other features. I also have a z6 II and the z50 II does as much as the z6 II. Image quality is about the same as the z6 II. I have been able to print large 16x22 images. I shoot in raw, using the manual setting. What I don't like is battery life but that can be solved by purchasing additional batteries.

1st full size digital since using 35mm film. Body has a good feel and has been easy to learn the basics.

    Compact and lightweight.

I bought this camera, along with a Nikkor 28-400, for my wife who wanted a compact, lighter weight kit that could still reach out for bird photography. So far it is working out very well and she likes it and the lens, even at f/8, is producing excellent images.

Glad that I made the upgraded.

Posted by JOHN WIGGERT on March 20, 2026

I've been using Nikon cameras since my first F-2 and now shoot mostly landscape and wildlife photos. My current cameras are the Z-6ii and Z-7ii, however I'm now74 years old and it's hard for me to hold that equipment. I will also use a Z50 occasionally. When the Z18-140 was introduced, I decided to upgrade the Z-50 also. Living in Wisconsin the Z50ii has not seen much use yet but with the little use it's seen I sure like the upgrades and glad that it I bought it.

Perfect for every day and travel

Posted by Debbie Yelverton on March 12, 2026

I love it! It’s lightweight and you get Nikon’s typical amazing image quality! The focus is much faster than on the original Z 50. Perfect for every day or travel.

    Z50II

Posted by Guy Fortin on February 24, 2026

I’ve been a Nikon user for several years and own both a DSLR (D500) and Mirrorless Z6II. The Z50II exceeded my expectations - I have put it to the test in many aspects, using my F and Z lenses in a variety of shooting situations and I am quite impressed. I also purchased two “kit” lenses along with it to complete the package. Of course it has certain limitations compared to my crop D500 but it also has an outstanding processor and video capabilities. I can see why photography/videography enthusiasts would benefit from owning this little jewel.

    A great travel companion

Posted by Frank Billue on February 15, 2026

I recently bought this camera with the 16-50 f3.5-6.3 kit lens for a ski trip to Japan. I wanted a Z camera that would fit in my jacket easily and I could carry skiing. It was the right decision. The camera and lens combo gets exceptional images. The camera is complex with a multitude of set up options and I didn't have a lot of time to learn it well before the trip so I made a few mistakes but that's on me. This combo was perfect for ski touring and for street photos. The battery lasted better than I expected being in the cold but I never ran out of power even with taking over 250 shots. The camera got damp inside my jacket and occasionally covered in snow but performed flawlessly. I'm now using it for wildlife with the 100-400 FX lens and really liking the results. I really like the flip around monitor screen because you can store it face down against the body and protect the screen while traveling. The 16-50 mm lens is small and light and makes an unobtrusive package for street photography. I just wish Nikon would deliver a battery charger with this kit. I charged the battery in the camera using the USB cable and took an extra battery but rarely needed it on the trip. Be prepared to learn a lot about what a modern camera can do but when you set it up and learn some of the extensive menus, it is a joy to use.
