Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x

I have been using Nikon camera's since 1976 and this is the best Teleconverter I have used.

I use this TC with my 400mm f/4.5 on my Nikon Z7. That gives me a 560mm f/6.3. The differences between with and without TC is so negligible that the TC is now welded to my lens. I would only take it of when I am to close to the subject or when I need more light. Which has not happened yet. The Z lenses are just amazing, which is the main reason why I switched from DSLR to the Mirrorless. Over the last 20 years I had 3 AF-S 500mm f/4 and quite often used the TC 1.4 II. But this setup just blows it away.

Good as expected, and that's pretty darn good! Easy on, easy off, easy to cary, light on weight. Exactly what I expected! Well Done Nikon!!!

Conveniently extends the reach of the 70-200 and the 100-400... while at the same time increasing the magnification for the close range. Without obvious impact to photo quality. It stays in the bag.

The Z Teleconverter TC-1.4 works very well with my Z 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 lens. The pictures are sharp. At 400mm the teleconverter gives a 560mm focal length. I’m very pleased with the results I’m getting.

The Z Teleconverter TC-1.4 works very well with both my 70-200mm f/2.8 and my 400mm f/4.5. I am very pleased with the results with both lenses on my Z9 and Z7 II. The appears to be very little loss of sharpness.

I am using the Z teleconverter TC-1.4 on a Z50 with a Z100-400 S lens. This gives me an effective focal length of 800mm. I am truly pleased with this combination. I have used this combination with my Z7 but I think the image quality on the Z50 is comparable and I do gain the additional focal length from the DX format. This lens combined with the Z50 makes a nice lightweight combination for birding. It’s a big improvement over my D780 with a 200-500 lens.

I shoot a lot of high school sports. My late season soccer photos improved after I got the TeleExternder. Works much better that my D6 with the same setup.

This past weekend I used the TC-1.4X on my z7 with the f2.8 70/200mm to capture images during the Masters Historic F1 Race at Laguna Seca. The day this image was captured was heavily overcast with a mist that instead on covering my lens element every few minutes after I would dry it. Non the less the combination of the 70/200 and the TC-1.4X yielded a selection of sharp images with great color and contrast. The image I have included is of a bright white car with deep green stripes and wording.
