My dream camera delivers in spades.

Posted by Matt Eseltine on February 24, 2024

I have been shooting Nikon since the N90s. I have owned many Nikon cameras but this is my first flagship Nikon. This camera ticks all the boxes, Fast, accurate, capable. The Z9 gives me so much flexibility. It opens up possibilities that were less likely with DSLRs. You get rather spoiled using Z9 and notice this when you pick up a DSLR spare body. Mirrorless is the new reality, it is here, Nikon have hit a homerun with the Z9. I am pre-gobsmacked about what a Z10 could possibly be like. Nikon, please, global shutter.Likes: 20 fps RAW, silent mode, star mode, red mode, long battery life, ergonomics, function buttons, "I" menu, specific focus subjects ie. birds, planes etc, f mount compatibility (with FTZ II)Dislikes: No global shutter, viewfinder needs higher resolution, needs more illuminated buttons.

    Exceeded my expectations.

Posted by Haydn B Eugene on February 18, 2024

I have shot Nikon for over 40yrs and although have encountered occasional lapses in equipment functionality, I'm die hard Nikon. I shoot events, weddings and whatever is required. My real passion is landscape and birding. A variety of Nikon equipment and lenses have always fit the bill. What I've always longed for moresk when birding, has been the ability to track and lock on to the subject effortless, seamlessl and cature it sharply and with much fluidity. What the Z9 has delivered has been precisely what I wanted and more. The firmware upgrades has even rendered more. My Z6II and D850 are still always at hand along with all the f mount lenses, (ive got the FTZ) adaptor but have been slowly coverting to the Z S line lenses. The Z9 is simply unbelievable and a joy to shoot with.

    The Z9 is wow!

Posted by TP Anantheswaran on February 12, 2024

Wow! what a camera. I have been using it for more than a year now and extremely happy with it. Eye auto-focus is the best I have had. Pictures are crisp (one can count the number of feathers on birds). Focus speed is absolutely amazing and locks on the subject immediately. Extremely intuitive and easy to use. Z9 is a boon for Nikon users.

The Best All Around Camera There Is, Hands Down

Posted by Charles Wilson on February 10, 2024

I have used all the top "Flag Ship" Mirrorless cameras, I had the first Nikon Z7 and a Sony A7. The Z9 is what I hoped that Nikon and the other camera companies would make at the beginning. But Nikon just like everyone else had to evolve and learn over a period of time. The Z9 is the gold standard of where all other mirrorless cameras should be. I would like to say the Nikon ZF is a great daily companion with a Z9. The autofocus on both is top tier. The ZF is just fun to shoot with. Both my Z9 and ZF go with me everywhere. It helps me enjoy photograph and enjoy the memories I create with each shot. Thank you Nikon.

Switching from Nikon DSLRs to the Z9

Posted by KATHLEEN SMITH on February 9, 2024

I've had my Z9 for a few months now. I do Bald Eagle nesting research in WV and OH. I’m looking forward to our upcoming 2024 nesting season and switching over from my Nikon DSLRs to totally using the Z9. It’s been a pleasure to use so far with Z and F Mount lenses (with the FTZ II adapter). It does have a learning curve from my DSLRs but it has given me something to keep me busy, being Disabled and Retired. Great job Nikon! It was worth the wait!

    The Best Mirrorless Camera

Posted by George Tran on January 26, 2024

It is almost my dream mirrorless camera even though I give it 5 stars because its software and ergonomic designs have more room for improvements and its stacked sensor is not a breakthrough technology in terms of signal-to-noise ratio. Since I own it, I hardly put my hand on my D800, D850 and Z7.
