The best Nikon I have ever owned and I have owned a bunch of them.
Posted by Jules Vuotto on June 25, 2023
I have been shooting with Nikon cameras for over 50 years and the Z8 is without a doubt the best so far. Image quality, auto-focus, frame rate and the ability to customize it to perfectly fit my needs are some of my favorite things. In fact have have published several YouTube videos on the Z8, praising it.

I love my Z8

Very fast focusing with the Z100-400 lens. Minimal grain at high ISO. Short battery life

Great Camera!
Posted by Will Stattman on June 22, 2023
The Z8 has exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. The sensor and autofocus are amazing. My main gripe is with the shooting bank system: it feels inferior to the U1/U2/U3 modes on the Z6 and Z7. I wish there was an option for the shooting banks to remember changes or not remember changes. The way they function right now all changes are remembered and the old settings need to be loaded from an external card if you want to revert back. Most frustrating of all, though, is that the the shooting banks do not remember the release mode / drive settings. Since the physical release mode dial was eliminated these should absolutely be saved settings. I want to have single shot release saved on bank A with AF-S and single point for landscapes and continuous high saved on bank B with AF-C and 3D tracking for action. Sadly this is currently not possible. Nikon, please change this in a firmware update!

D850 to Z8, and Now my Favorite travel camera!
Posted by Edstanley Suguitan on June 22, 2023
I upgraded my D850 to Z8. The best upgrade decision! The Z8 has all the bells and whistles the Z9 has in a smaller form factor. I now travel with this Z8 without thinking about which camera body I should have brought!

I was holding out for a mirrorless version of the D850, I am not disappointed.

Z9 Lite
Posted by Mara Lavitt on June 19, 2023
I never wanted to see EVF blackout again. I no longer shoot sports so didn't need the Z9's FPS but did want its more sophisticated focusing. Basically, I wanted the Z9 in a smaller body which pretty much describes the Z8. It is the "Z9 Lite." Love the processor. Hate that the review button has moved from the top left to the bottom right. Not sure how I feel about the HEIF RAW compression. Wish that I could reformat the card with two buttons instead of in the menu. For me the sweet spot would be a 7iii that had the compactness of the 7ii but the processor of the Z8 and Z9. Now THAT would be a sweet camera!

There is no backup recording on 2 cards at the same time
Posted by gavriel adi on June 18, 2023
For some reason you still haven't fixed the most basic thing for videographers, which is recording video on 2 cards at the same time, which means shooting video with backup, I don't understand it at all and I hope you wake up and fix it with a firmware update

A worthy successor to my D850.
Posted by Joseph Ford on June 17, 2023
I'm a huge fan of my D850, and it still get regular use for events. With Mirror-less and upgraded glass. Z8 will become my primary workhorse. With the speed, ability to focus and outstanding picture quality it just a perfect camera replacement.
