Superb camera and superb service from Nikon.

Posted by Gary Storrick on August 24, 2023

The Z8 is a perfect backkup/alternative to my Z9, and a quantum leap forward compared to my older D850 (another excellent camera, by the way).. Lighter than the Z9 but with little sacrificed save for using a smaller battery and are placing a second CFExpress with an SD card, the Z8 may be the perfect all-round camera for my needs and I'm sure many others will feel the same way.My Z8 was among those recalled for the strap lug inspection that came out the day that my Z8arrived.. Nikon handled this perfectly, telling me when to send it in, providing a shipping label, and covering all expenses. I returned the camera on a Monday and it was back in my hands on Wednesday of the following week. Nikon even upgraded the firmware while it was in the shop.

    Z8 is a great camera.

Posted by DAVID CUNNINGHAM on August 20, 2023

I've had my Z8 for almost 3 weeks now and I love it. I have owned Nikon D600, D500, D750 and D850. This has them all beat!!! I purchased Steve Perry's books to help me learn the the system and especially the focus system on this camera and I'm glad that I did. It is quite a learning experience. I can't believe the low noise at extremely high iso. There is almost no editing the photos with Lightroom to try to get a photo better. It's a great photo right out of the camera and I shoot raw. I highly recommend it.

    Z8 Review

Posted by BARRY SPITZ on August 10, 2023

Although I have only had my Z8 for a short I really am impressed. Learning how to use the shooting and custom banks. A little confusing at first but certain I will get the hang of it. One other thing I found different is the the image review button is in the lower right on the camera instead of upper left as on my previous Nikon cameras. This has taken an adjustment and wonder why is was moved.

    So far, soooo amazing!

Posted by Kimberly Kitchen on August 9, 2023

So far soooo amazing! Previous D90, D500, D850 user. I wasn’t sure that I would find a better piece of camera technology than the 850 but the Z8 is it! I am amazed of the functionality! Maybe the menu setup could be more intuitive and the Shooting Menu Banks along with the Custom Settings Menu could be saved to the camera (I hope to see this soon) in the future but for now it works! I am excited to learn all of its capabilities!

    More power Extraordinaire

Posted by Gerard McIntyre on August 6, 2023

I have been begging for more power since I became a photographer in the 70s and I think the Z 8 is the best Nikon I have owned. I am primarily a Nature and Landscape photographer but I also do event, wedding and macro photography. I like the button layout and user friendly options. You won't go wrong buying this exquisite camera.

    Excellent camera

I own a Z9 and Z7ii. Now having a Z8 to handle video instead of Z7ii that helps switching camera easier

    Huge Jump

Posted by Brian Silver on August 4, 2023

I am moving from a D7000 to the Z8. D7000 served me faithfully for a decade. Takes really nice pictures. I was waiting for a camera that was a huge jump forward. Moving from 6 fps to 9 was not a jump worth making. This camera is obviously way more capable and way more complicated to operate. Huge learning curve, but the tools are so awesome. Super fast and silent. Wildlife photographer and that is something worth spending money on. 3D tracking should take my success rate up considerably. I have smaller hands and my only advice for Nikon would be to make the grip adjustable. My pistol has different grip to fit different hands. One size does not fit all. Have to adjust the buttons to fit my smaller hands. Never had a movable screen so that will also a learning curve. Might be huge with my smaller hands. I am really good with wildlife. This camera should take my photos to another level. Muscle memory is my biggest challenge for now. Update later if Needed.

    Beyond satisfied

Posted by DALE KEIGER on July 31, 2023

AF extraordinary. Getting sharper images than I've ever experienced with a Nikon. Set up took a while as this is a complex instrument. Battery life shorter than with my Z6, but I've figured out ways to keep it acceptable. So far, not just satisfied but thrilled with the camera.

    Great Camera for most subjects

Posted by William Koplitz on July 31, 2023

I really liked the Z 9 performance but am planning on more travel and don't want to carry the extra weight so the Z 8 works perfectly for me, it's smaller Z 9 with a better button layout. I've been photographing bees lately and would prefer an option of smaller eye target or being able to change the size of the eye target. But this kind of photography is season dependent and I'll soon be back to my normal subjects where the subject targets works perfectly.. I have noticed that the camera sometimes gets lost and can't find anything to focus on, it's like it's lost. I have to help it with the manual focusing ring, but that seems to only happen to the 105mm macro lens.
